Bad News Gertner 05-03-2021 12:54 AM

That would have been very interesting.

Bad News Gertner 05-03-2021 12:58 AM

They can probably squeeze another season or two tops out of this show

#1-norm-fan 05-03-2021 01:00 AM

I’m not sure who they could find to interview as far as his contemporaries but the stories alone could easily carry the episode.

Bad News Gertner 05-03-2021 02:01 AM

He worked a lot of small territories, so there isn't much footage of him. I'd watch an hour of Cornette telling Colt stories.

Seanny One Ball 05-03-2021 02:21 PM

Not much match footage but what of his porn career?

I don't know about hating him but, yeah, he needed to keep it in his pants. Fuck Melanie, too.

Seanny One Ball 05-04-2021 06:24 PM

I watched it and quite frankly I agree.

Brian Pillman would be a piece of shit if a quarter of what was said was true, let alone all of it.

When your biggest defender is Stone Cold the wife beater...

Also isn't it weird how much like Pillman the dyke daughter looks?
She had the hair of a Marine and the tits of a twelve year old boy.

Bad News Gertner 05-04-2021 07:32 PM

Fuck I can't wait to watch it Thursday night

Bad News Gertner 05-04-2021 08:26 PM

First half of the Pillman episode.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-04-2021 08:46 PM

I watched the Herb Abrams episode recently. It was fine. Not quite as chaotic as I was expecting. Was cool to have Stevie Ray and Col. Red on there but it was a little soft.

And they didn’t even talk about the Dr. Death hit on Stevie Ray. Which I guess confirms it was a bit.

Bad News Gertner 05-04-2021 09:03 PM

Yeah Stevie Ray went did an interview and said it was a bit

The Herb episode was pretty good. I remember watching his show as a kid. When it got canceled they put on the AWF and their "Round system" featuring the young heart throb tag team of Greg Valentine and Tommy Rich with manager Rico Suave

Bad News Gertner 05-04-2021 10:33 PM

OK I couldn't wait and watched the first part of Pillman

God I love this show

Fignuts 05-05-2021 12:03 AM

Melanie Pillman seems like real scumbag. Feel like she only went on there and admitted guilt to save face, because she knew how bad her part in the story would come off.

Bad News Gertner 05-05-2021 12:13 AM

Like what good could possibly come from her being on this show for her sake.

Believe me, Melanie did not have to admit guilt in the custody issue, there is more to the story. In the way she dealt with Rochelle and said and did bad things, absolutely, but the notion of going for custody...was a very complex issue for her to admit guilt to, because it probably was the right move at that specific time.

Melanie doesn't fare any better in Part 2, either.

Loose Cannon 05-05-2021 07:30 AM

Great episode . I’m obviously a huge Pillman fan and already knew most of the stuff that was discussed , but it was really cool to see people like Kim Wood, his sister, Melanie and the two daughters on the show. Melanie looks awful but I guess that’s what years and years of drug abuse does to you .

Last year's #SpeakingOut movement is something the series producers are currently interested in doing for a future episode.

I learned a lot in the Pillman episode. I've never read his biography so I really didn't know the extent of the crash and what caused it. It's nice to learn new things about old stories. This episode was really emotional, Pillman Jr's footage really got me. Poor family really had it bad after he passed. From this I hope that AEW really decided to give the kid a chance, I think he has the talent for success. After last weeks Dynamite I'm hoping that they build The Suicide Blondes to a PPV match with Lucha Express.

The JR footage as well was really personal and emotional. Hearing from Austin was good too, he removed himself quite a bit but that didn't surprise me he's not a very emotional guy.

Really glad they got Melanie, she obviously doesn't come off as any kind of hero but it was necessary for the story.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 07:55 PM

Just finished watching the Pillman episode and it was easily one of the best in the series.

Helped that it was a two parter but had enough content where it flowed well and didn't feel like they were just trying to stretch things out to fill for time like some of the other episodes in the series.

Pillman Jr. breaking down over how his life spiraled downwards after his father's passing was a bit tough to watch. To go from someone who loved you very dearly to someone who was a piece of shit as a father figure was something he never deserved to experience.

Bad News Gertner 05-07-2021 10:59 PM

Stretch out for time? I actually think every episode should be at least an hour and a half. Most feel rushed IMO.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 11:20 PM

Some of the weaker 1-hour episodes felt like they were stretching out content or a topic to fill the whole episode.

Think the Montreal Screwjob episode that had that feeling when it devolved into a Cornette vs. Russo bickering fest in the latter half.

Triple A 05-08-2021 04:19 AM

Jesus @ Vince interviewing his grieving widow for ratings and asking her "What are you and the kids going to do for money now?"

I think they put that in because as much as people like you and I are tired of it, people eat that shit up. I have a couple friends who were more or less Attitude Era fans who thought the Cornette v Russo shit was hilarious. I told them this shit has been going on for 20 years lol

The Randy Savage episode for example I think could have used more time. They really glossed over his WCW run.

I also have to keep in mind that they are trying to tow the line between appealing to casuals and wrestling dorks like myself.

Bad News Gertner 05-09-2021 11:27 PM

Finished part 2 of Pillman. Jesus Christ. Poor Brian Jr. How he's become a normal dude and isn't a deranged serial killer from what he went through is amazing.

The more I think about it the more I'm looking forward to the XPW episode. That one is gonna be wild.

Emperor Smeat 05-11-2021 09:49 PM

The Warrior one is going to be really interesting since its airing on the same week as A&E's Biography episode on him.

Outside of the Macho Man episode, A&E's WWE based episodes have shied away a lot or flat out ignored any notable controversial stuff that would make WWE look bad.

Bad News Gertner 05-11-2021 10:04 PM

Which is expected

I was watching Shawn Michaels Vs Stone Cold 1997 on YouTube and at the start of the match Shawn "protects" a guy with Downs Syndrome from security.
They make a whole big deal of it.

The shit Vince thinks other people will enjoy could be a whole episode itself.

drave 05-12-2021 07:17 PM

I'd watch the fuck outta that, but only if it was filmed, produced, directed by and starring Vince himself.

The WWEgo of the WWE or some other stupid catchy shit that's better than that.

Honestly I will watch whatever they come up with for further seasons. But I feel like if I can't come up with stories that I would want to see for a 1 hour doc called Dark Side of The Ring, beyond what they've already produced and have for this season. Then I think they will have some real trouble grabbing the big ratings they are accustom to. I highly doubt they will get the ratings for this season that they did in the last two.

Jordan 05-12-2021 10:19 PM

The most interesting things they can talk about at this point wouldn't fill a whole hour or would get them sued by Vince and co. or Hogan.

Bad News Gertner 05-12-2021 10:22 PM

They gotta do a Chris Adams one before they stop lol

Do you think there was a chance that the kid just fell over the guardrail?

mike adamle 05-13-2021 07:05 PM

Anyone gotta stream for tonight's darkside? Pretty interested in this one and wanna watch it live but dont have vice tv

Bad News Gertner 05-13-2021 09:12 PM

Jesus Christ @ the Nick Gage episode already lol

Fenix122 05-13-2021 09:14 PM

Fucker is leaking blood but wants to get "taped up" and go back out...damn

Jordan 05-13-2021 10:16 PM

That was a great episode. Wow.

Jordan 05-13-2021 10:30 PM

I have only seen Nick live once. It was at Lost in New York. I can't recall seeing fans respond to anyone the way that they did for him that night. He brings out a sense of insanity, blood lust, violence that I've never experienced before. It was awesome. I'd been thinking "Will AEW bring in Nick for a program or some kind of death match with Mox or Kingston"... while I wish they would I don't see it happening. I don't think Tony could swing it with his criminal record. But I really wish the best for him, whatever that is to him.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 12:19 AM

Seeing as he recently started a feud for the GCW title with Jon Moxley, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in AEW at some point this year and AEW's been open towards deathmatch style wrestling for their shows.

AEW did have plans for him to show up at last year's All Out event but that got canned after he suffered a serious injury prior to it. Wasn't till last month that he finally recovered enough to resume wrestling.
