I just wish the episodes were at least an hour and a half long. An short feels too short for some of these stories.
|
According to the Observer Newsletter, Season 3 is going to be split up into two halves with the first half airing starting in May and the second half latter in the year.

Yeah I think Bruiser Bedlam is going to be the show of the season. It blows my mind that he is so unknown given the crazy gangster shit he was getting up to. John Nord would make a good subject for this too. Quite the character! |
Brian Pillman getting a whole episode seems silly... The guy doesn't provide much in the way of interest.
Dynamite Kid will be a rehash of everything we already know, probably worth watching for anyone who hasn't read about him. I mean his own book paints him as a massive cunt so just read that really. |
Bet they show the Foley clothesline before the five minute mark.

Goddamn I'd beat the fuck out of someone pizza cutting my mouth. There would be some heavy receipts.
|
Nick fucking Gage baby
|
The way Mox can detail emotion and excitement, he must be a riot at Vegas Knights' games.
|
Luna Vachon announced as a topic. That should be excellent. Also announced were the Plane Ride From Hell and the Steroid Trial. If they are able to get Dr. George Zahorian that would be my favourite "get" so far.
|
Give us ring boys give us plane crashes give us Zomhofe, Sweetan and Hardbody Harrison.
Give us Chris Colt and Lars Sullivan and ask who spread more hepatitis? Those two or Abdullah the Butcher. |
Kurt Angle could get his own episode to be honest.
He's a fucked up guy. |
First hour of Pillman's episode is available !
|
Really good so far. Didn't know about the fucked up family stuff, or how he got his signature rasp.
Fucking love this Tim Woods guy. |
Watching it tonight. Can't wait.
|
To be honest it made me hate the guy, a lot ! He was really a piece of shit in his personnal life !
|
certainly dark stuff, doesn't make me hate pillman just understand him better. looking forward to part deuce
|
Decided to wait for it to come on Vice. Watching the Randy Savage A&E instead.
|
Nick Fucking Gage next week
|
The producers were on Cornette’s podcast and mentioned that Chris Colt is an episode they’ve discussed but the lack of footage is a problem.
|
That would have been very interesting.
|
They can probably squeeze another season or two tops out of this show
|
I’m not sure who they could find to interview as far as his contemporaries but the stories alone could easily carry the episode.
|
He worked a lot of small territories, so there isn't much footage of him. I'd watch an hour of Cornette telling Colt stories.
|
Not much match footage but what of his porn career?
|

I watched it and quite frankly I agree.
Brian Pillman would be a piece of shit if a quarter of what was said was true, let alone all of it. When your biggest defender is Stone Cold the wife beater... Also isn't it weird how much like Pillman the dyke daughter looks? She had the hair of a Marine and the tits of a twelve year old boy. |
Fuck I can't wait to watch it Thursday night
|
First half of the Pillman episode. |
I watched the Herb Abrams episode recently. It was fine. Not quite as chaotic as I was expecting. Was cool to have Stevie Ray and Col. Red on there but it was a little soft.
And they didn’t even talk about the Dr. Death hit on Stevie Ray. Which I guess confirms it was a bit. |
Yeah Stevie Ray went did an interview and said it was a bit
The Herb episode was pretty good. I remember watching his show as a kid. When it got canceled they put on the AWF and their "Round system" featuring the young heart throb tag team of Greg Valentine and Tommy Rich with manager Rico Suave |
OK I couldn't wait and watched the first part of Pillman
God I love this show |
Melanie Pillman seems like real scumbag. Feel like she only went on there and admitted guilt to save face, because she knew how bad her part in the story would come off.
|
Like what good could possibly come from her being on this show for her sake.
|
Quote:
Melanie doesn't fare any better in Part 2, either. |
Great episode . I’m obviously a huge Pillman fan and already knew most of the stuff that was discussed , but it was really cool to see people like Kim Wood, his sister, Melanie and the two daughters on the show. Melanie looks awful but I guess that’s what years and years of drug abuse does to you .
|
Last year's #SpeakingOut movement is something the series producers are currently interested in doing for a future episode.

I learned a lot in the Pillman episode. I've never read his biography so I really didn't know the extent of the crash and what caused it. It's nice to learn new things about old stories. This episode was really emotional, Pillman Jr's footage really got me. Poor family really had it bad after he passed. From this I hope that AEW really decided to give the kid a chance, I think he has the talent for success. After last weeks Dynamite I'm hoping that they build The Suicide Blondes to a PPV match with Lucha Express.
The JR footage as well was really personal and emotional. Hearing from Austin was good too, he removed himself quite a bit but that didn't surprise me he's not a very emotional guy. Really glad they got Melanie, she obviously doesn't come off as any kind of hero but it was necessary for the story. |
Just finished watching the Pillman episode and it was easily one of the best in the series.
Helped that it was a two parter but had enough content where it flowed well and didn't feel like they were just trying to stretch things out to fill for time like some of the other episodes in the series. Pillman Jr. breaking down over how his life spiraled downwards after his father's passing was a bit tough to watch. To go from someone who loved you very dearly to someone who was a piece of shit as a father figure was something he never deserved to experience. |
Stretch out for time? I actually think every episode should be at least an hour and a half. Most feel rushed IMO.
|
Some of the weaker 1-hour episodes felt like they were stretching out content or a topic to fill the whole episode.
Think the Montreal Screwjob episode that had that feeling when it devolved into a Cornette vs. Russo bickering fest in the latter half. |
Jesus @ Vince interviewing his grieving widow for ratings and asking her "What are you and the kids going to do for money now?"
|
Quote:
The Randy Savage episode for example I think could have used more time. They really glossed over his WCW run. I also have to keep in mind that they are trying to tow the line between appealing to casuals and wrestling dorks like myself. |
Finished part 2 of Pillman. Jesus Christ. Poor Brian Jr. How he's become a normal dude and isn't a deranged serial killer from what he went through is amazing.

The more I think about it the more I'm looking forward to the XPW episode. That one is gonna be wild.
|
The Warrior one is going to be really interesting since its airing on the same week as A&E's Biography episode on him.
Outside of the Macho Man episode, A&E's WWE based episodes have shied away a lot or flat out ignored any notable controversial stuff that would make WWE look bad. |
Which is expected
|
Quote:
I was watching Shawn Michaels Vs Stone Cold 1997 on YouTube and at the start of the match Shawn "protects" a guy with Downs Syndrome from security. They make a whole big deal of it. The shit Vince thinks other people will enjoy could be a whole episode itself. |
I'd watch the fuck outta that, but only if it was filmed, produced, directed by and starring Vince himself.
The WWEgo of the WWE or some other stupid catchy shit that's better than that. |
Quote:
|
The most interesting things they can talk about at this point wouldn't fill a whole hour or would get them sued by Vince and co. or Hogan.
|
They gotta do a Chris Adams one before they stop lol

Anyone gotta stream for tonight's darkside? Pretty interested in this one and wanna watch it live but dont have vice tv
|
Jesus Christ @ the Nick Gage episode already lol
|
Fucker is leaking blood but wants to get "taped up" and go back out...damn
|
That was a great episode. Wow.
|
I have only seen Nick live once. It was at Lost in New York. I can't recall seeing fans respond to anyone the way that they did for him that night. He brings out a sense of insanity, blood lust, violence that I've never experienced before. It was awesome. I'd been thinking "Will AEW bring in Nick for a program or some kind of death match with Mox or Kingston"... while I wish they would I don't see it happening. I don't think Tony could swing it with his criminal record. But I really wish the best for him, whatever that is to him.
|
Seeing as he recently started a feud for the GCW title with Jon Moxley, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in AEW at some point this year and AEW's been open towards deathmatch style wrestling for their shows.
AEW did have plans for him to show up at last year's All Out event but that got canned after he suffered a serious injury prior to it. Wasn't till last month that he finally recovered enough to resume wrestling. |
What a episode lol

He's so great
|
Jesus this is tough to watch.
|
Haven’t been keeping up this season but the Collision in Korea episode... I have incredibly high hopes.
I need to watch the Pillman episode but from the sound of it, I really don’t wanna hate Pillman. |
The Nick Gage episode is shit in so many ways that it's sort of not that bad actually.
Like when hipsters enjoy things ironically. |
His girlfriend was like a smackhead Latina Fran Drescher
|
The Nick Gage episode is fucking amazing. One or the better episodes. Season 3 is off to an amazing start.
|
I can see how Nick Gage’s story could be enjoyable to someone in a train wreck reality TV/bum fights/Faces of Death sort of way. It misses the wrestling aspect that I watch these things for though so... pass.
|
That's totally not at all what it's like, but whatever floats your boat
|
Quote:
That's exactly what it's like, I thought of Jerry Springer style trash TV when I watched it. The thing is full of smackheads. |
If it doesn't interest you I get it. For me it's an important story because CZW was the evolution of ECW. CZW was doing it's thing near the end of ECW, it had it's fan base which I was not apart of. It seemed like backyard wrestling mixed with steroids to me. It was way to brutal but at the same time worked for me to enjoy. But it does have a following. It started with the love for Japanese death matches which I used to have a peaking interest in. But I learned that this type of Wrestling really has very little to offer.
All that said. Nick as the main guy for GCW these days is quite relevant. They are probably the funnest live show in the US right now. It's taken the spot of PWG, ROH, and what ECW used to be as the "underground" company that is providing the inspiration for a lot going on in the mainstream. For me this was one of the most captivating episodes yet. Cage is a live wire, he's a flash from the past, something you don't see these days in wrestling. The Arquette story was the crescendo that tied it all together. Complete insanity. |
I'm convinced SOB didn't watch the episode.
|
I always do my due diligence.
Surely you know I hate that death match stuff. I hated Cactus Vs Funk when I saw it recently too after I watched that Nick Mondo documentary and that Vice death match documentary with the really fat guy who gets some sort of spikey metal scouring pad that looks like it attaches to a drill hammered into his head. I even watched a load of that idiot Necro Butcher's matches. It always ends in light tubes gouging huge chunks out of people. It's not what I like to watch. Nick Gage was relatively interesting for a cheap white New Jack. I think he believes his own legend which is typical of a big fish in a very small pond. It was just a bit greasy for my tastes. |
light tube matches are fucking dumb, and I enjoy the deathmatch style.
|
The story of Nick Gage is really interesting, deathmatch wrestler or not.
|
Guy becomes death match wrestler, gets hurt a bunch and gets hooked on drugs to cope with the physical pain, robs a bank like a moron and gets seven years in prison, guy wrestles deathmatch once more.
It would be more interesting if they had Art Donovan asking "Is this guy one of the wrestlers?" every time he said or did something stupid. |
If the show had been about his brother too that would have been good. I feel like there was a lot left unsaid there.
It's always more interesting when a seemingly good guy goes off the rails. |
You're way oversimplifying it
|
Quote:
|
Yeah I'm not a huge Death Match fan either. I can take it in small doses. Like 1 match. Not a tournament full. But Nick Gage is an interesting dude.
|
I did hear about Moxley’s quote about how he’d always wear a mask to the ring and then he decided to rob a bank without one. Which made me laugh.
|
Watching the Brian Pillman episode and boy am I ticked off by Melanie Pillman.
|
The Pillman episodes were incredible. I cannot for the life of me understand why Kim Wood never got involved in the business as a manager. That guy was so captivating.
The Nick Gage episode was interesting but made me feel sad. I don’t see that guy’s story ending well. |
He'll die of a good overdose, not a bad one.
|
Quote:
Yeah I know, there's even a name for what I'm doing. It's Latin! |

The Gage episode was ok. Didn’t know his match with Arquette went off the rails the way that it did. His story was ok but I feel like it would’ve been better had they also told his brother’s story.

Can't wait for the XPW Dark Side of the Ring!
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I heard about this on .<a href="https://twitter.com/RTIpod?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RTIpod</a> and didn’t believe them. needed video evidence <a href="https://t.co/ebdkGccmW6">pic.twitter.com/ebdkGccmW6</a></p>— mongo and friends (@ThatsOurMongo) <a href="https://twitter.com/ThatsOurMongo/status/1395011321263964165?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 19, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Now that’s how you do a ring explosion
|
Korea episode was a bit lackluster. It's not my favorite.
|
Quote:
|
Yeah it's worth watching don't let me deter you. Just felt like they didn't have enough content for this particular story to fill the hour with a great cohesive story.
|
Gonna catch it this weekend. I wasn't looking that forward to this one.
|
Getting a whole episode out of Korea and nothing on Chris Adams yet...
I can only imagine Gertner's disappointment. Chris Adams was killed by a guy called Boo Ray or "Booray" depending on the source. The podcasts I have heard about him have all been glorious. Check out Crime In Sports for Chris Adams stuff. It is comprehensive. |
Scott Norton lost a chunk of my respect there for basically saying "2 Cold Scorpio whooped Hawk's ass but if Hawk wasn't such a junkie he would have won".
Yeah well he was a junkie mate and he didn't win so shut your fat fucking face. |
Scott Norton now preaching about Ali as if he didn't just defend a racist lol.
Ugh his head is just a lump. |
2 Cold Scorpio was the D-Lo of WCW wasn't he...
Just beating up badasses on the daily. |
You have a weird view.
