Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 6
"It's a magical place."
I imagine the couple from Item 47 will show up eventually.
Trailer debuts during the Once finale this weekend, right?
I heard that too, not too sure though.
I'm excited for this, as I am all Marvel films and programs. I hope this series has a big enough budget that we get to see the helicarrier in it, and maybe even the odd cameo or two.

The very first clip there, of the guy jumping out of a window with a girl in his arms. Paused it and it looks like a black guy, so possibly J August Richards. Does that give any sort of clue who he might be? Guess it doesn't really show whatever his "power" is in much detail other than he can jump out a high building and land on his feet with no problem.
Not Luke Cage, I think... I'm digging through my inner Marvel database...
I dunno, I can't think of anyone else who'd fit the bill, super powers wise.
Maybe he's not playing a character who is traditionally white?
Or maybe it's not even J August Richards in that little clip and someone else. |
Re-casting races never goes down well with comics fans. See the recent rumours that a black actor was in the running for Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four reboot for proof.
Link that one.

Could be Luke Cage.... uhhhh... Black Panther..... or... another black hero!
Considering I don't really watch tv shows these days aside from TSCC and Walking Dead, I might consider this on my watch list.
What is TSCC?
Wait, Terminator? That isn't exactly "these days".

Michael B. Jordan of Chronicle. Would be good casting. |
Hmm...
Looks interesting, especially since its packaged like a movie trailer rather than a TV series trailer. Any one know what's the planned duration for each episode?

Nope. It was 4 yrs ago..

In regards to the superhuman featured in the video I read an article somewhere pointing out that a panel featuring Rage had been added to the marvel intro.
Yeah, a New Warrior I believe. Seems like a Bargain bin Hulk, then again he could be remixed for the show and just be a super strong dude.
The extended trailer, features more of Skye the hacker:

So, a couple of sites are running with the story that J August Richards hinted that he won't be playing a traditionally black character. Here's the interview. I guess he sorta hints at it, but sorta just keeps quiet too. Dunno, not really much to say anyway but whatever.

Would be awesome if some kinda low-level team was developed in this series (maybe a New Warriors type). Then after phase two is over, the main threat of phase three, assuming a third Avengers movie will be the end of it all, could have the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and the New Warriors all teaming up to face one massive threat. That'd be pretty neat if they could pull it off.
Pilot episode is getting shown in full at comic con apparently. Beware/be on the look out of spoilers everywhere in the next couple of hours.
Maria Hill will return.

And now I need to see Agent May vs Black Widow.

Part of me is really scared that this is going to be terrible.
Healthy fear is fine.
This is totally happening right now. Im in ER right now so enjoy it for me!
My thoughts on the season premier: Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
Ugh. That was bad.
I thought I'd dislike it but I dug it.

I liked it, it wasn't groundbreaking but it was fun and sets the series up well. It's probably going to be getting compared to the films a lot which isn't really fair, but give it time and I'm fully confident we'll get typical Whedon character advancement as time goes on. You can already see several of his character templates. I'm glad they just come out and reference everything from Avengers straight up rather than the winking and nodding that was going on a bit in Iron man 3. I get why they did that in Iron Man, I just prefer it this way.
what was the explanation for coulston being alive?

SPOILER: show |
COULSON LIVES!
Until we're told he's actually the Vision and Coulson's brainwaves and memories were uploaded into it. |
I enjoyed it. It has been too long since I watched a show actually on its premiere. I'm going to give this one a shot!
So putting some more perspective into it, I'll give you something other than "Ugh. That was poor."
I think the show has potential. The dialogue was at an almost terrible level and outside of the Asian woman I thought most of the actors were really rough. Even Coulson doesn't seem to mesh with the style and feel of the show. He just feels really out of place. I did like the tie in to Iron Man 3 with the antagonist, though, and I can see it getting better as time goes on. |
I wish they would have just gone out and made Gunn be Luke Cage. Seemed kind of like a "half-measure". When they teased the thing with Sky with him going public and stuff, thought for sure it was leading to Heroes for Hire and was like "Damn, they are really going all out with this thing EXCEPT for actually calling him Luke Cage"
I thought he was Luke Cage for a hot minute.
I think there was a shot of Sky deleting him from various databases and stuff, so theoretically he can still be set up with a "new identity".
I really hope that they get a rival organization to feud with. Hydra/AIM/Leviathan/H.A.M.M.E.R. or anything.
Hmm. It was alright I guess.
pretty stale imo
I'm willing to let it develop before passing my final judgement upon it.
It was enjoyable. Next episode will be the make or break. 100 times better than Sleeping Hallow ><.
Missed the start of the episode. Was it pre or post Avengers?
Post
Hmmm.
So the centipede thing, was that alien technology from the battle that a doctor formulated or?? |
Hopefully gets better

Anywhere I can watch it online?

Hulu
I loved this.
My only complaint about very first episode is the overuse of the word "weird".
I'm looking forward to this tonight... however there is also the start of the NHL season... and I am in the stone age with no pvr
On a side note, I like how Coulson has become like the new Harley Quinn; as in, he was such a minor character in the onset as a tie leading into Avengers, and now he's snowballed into beloved cannon.

Much better episode this week. I can see myself coming to really like this show.
Marked out at the end. |
Just starting with the pilot episode. Officially hooked as much as when TSCC Season 1 came out in 2008.
Episode 2 was probably better than episode 1, cool.
SPOILER: show |
It's definitely gonna get better once the characters become more fleshed out, we see some of their backstories and there's a longer story arc, but I'm already enjoying it immensely. Hope they continue to have the occasional cameo here and there. Guessing they'll bring someone in for the season finale, but hopefully for the odd episode throughout as well.
My one tiny gripe is that Coulson is a million times better as a comic relief character than as an authorititative figure. |
Missed a part at the end because my dog stepped on the remote:
SPOILER: show Really enjoying the show so far, even with the super cheesy dialogue. |
The message said
"Rising Tide in a holding pattern Planning to go dark What is your status?" To which she replied "I'm in." |
What is the Rising Tide? What are their goals, what are their plans? These are questions that I've asked myself from day one. Are they trying to bring SHIELD out into the light? Pretty sure they are. Are they trying to expose to the people that there's a secret organization that basically runs the whole world? Pretty sure nobody really cares and if they did, they'd be glad someone's there to defend them from threats of that magnitude.
Be interesting to see how this develops. |
Really liked the second episode.
Hope it gets better, it is showing some promise
"IT HAD A BAR! A really nice one..." :'(
Loved Fury popping up.
I'm enjoying it so far.
GRAVITON LIVES!
Cool, just looked him up, didn't know he was from the comics.
Looking forward to the hopefully inevitable ep where he gets loose and comes after Coulson, blaming him for what he has become. |
Looking forward to seeing this happen.
SPOILER: show |
I gave it a chance...more like Agents of S.U.C.K.. Very boring. Bring back Parker Lewis.
Decent enough episode. Felt it lacked something the first two had though.
For a minute there, I was expecting Skye's first heel turn on them.
When Fitz was all "We just need a tiny monkey" the Simmons was all like "Oh Fiiitz" it made it spun like "tiny monkey" is something he suggests often.
Hilarious. |
Yeah the monkey thing was 'WTF lol'. He was dead serious about it, too. Even mentioned it would be a brave monkey.
...And now I need to see SHIELD Monkey. I mean somewhere in that universe is a talking Raccoon ffs. |
Hit Monkey

I wish to do devilish things to Sky(e), but other than that, I'm still waiting for the show to grab me.
I'm liking it enough, but there's definitely something not doing it for me. Trying to put my finger on it.
None of the characters are good at all yet, but I know that'll come good with the Whedon's and Tanchareon, so I've been giving that a free pass really. Guy playing Ward is an extremely wooden actor, seems terrible. Not a fan of Fitz and Simmons yet, finding them kind of annoying which is weird cause "adorable, quirky nerd" is pretty much Whedon's forté, think I'd prefer it if there was just one of them really. Also when anyone else refers to them both as Fitzsimmons just seems awkward. Kinda wish there was a bit more physical diversity in the main cast other than "attractive brunette" Dunno, no real thought process going on here, just trying to work out what's not fully doing it for me. |
I'd be completely behind them killing off Ward and replacing him with J August Richards character as a "reformed asset" or whatever and leave out the obvious, forced foreshadowing of a romantic plot. He and Skye already had better chemistry anyway, and he's a much better actor.
Quite frankly they should kill off the two scientists and replace them with Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker (), and as you said, replace Ward with Richards. Maybe David Boreanaz could make an appearance....
Quote:
My problem with them is the clashing dialogue in "actual" arguing instead of "overlapping" when they bicker (so you can actually hear what they're saying instead of it just being two man crowd noise). Also, Fitz needs to dial down the accent a bit. It's cool when he's the only one talking, but in rapid fire conversation, it becomes a sound hurdle. And about the J. August thing... it's only been a couple episodes. Give it time, I'm pretty sure they'll put him to use. Especially considering they put all that effort into the whole "unemployed" angle. |
Actually Fitzsimmons are both talking in their native accent.
In my opinion, they should be using the marvel license to its fullest extent. How many shows are out there about a secret government agency investigating weird out of the ordinary stuff?
The marvel license is what sets this apart from all the others. I wanna see characters that we know won't make it in the movies. Taskmaster is a great example. He would be perfect as the lead villain, as part of his shtick is that he trains people to become super villains. From that you could have a bunch of lower level villains like whirlwind and the claw show up, revised to fit into the marvel movie verse. |
