Seth Rollins’ gruesome attack left Rey Mysterio with a critical eye injury. Apparently, that injury may be forcing The Master of The 619 to hang up his boots. There will be a retirement ceremony for Mysterio on Raw tonight, although it is being hosted by the man who inflicted the injury. Just what does The Monday Night Messiah have planned for this ceremony, and what possible motives could he have for hosting it? Find out on Raw, tonight at 8/7 C on USA!

Raw Preview : Quick Hits
  • Seth Rollins to host Rey Mysterio’s retirement ceremony
  • Raw Women’s Champion Asuka takes on NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair
  • Aleister Black to go one-on-one with Seth Rollins
  • United States Champion Apollo Crews to defend against an opponent of his choice

Rey to the HOF

Watching Titan Games rn...so refreshing hearing real people talk like real people....already invested in these competitors...

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 08:25 PM

Theory looked like a goofball doing the exact same closed hands walk Murphy was doing.

Like something straight out of a WWE video game.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 08:39 PM

Black vs. Rollins was pretty good overall.

Assuming the Rey stuff later is around 15-20 minutes or so, a third of tonight's RAW would involve Rollins on screen in some form.

slik 06-01-2020 08:39 PM

Titan Games is actually really good....these challenges are hard af

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 08:49 PM

Did anyone turn heel yet and low bow their opponent or whack them over the head with a chair?

slik 06-01-2020 08:51 PM

no but the vignettes introducing contestants are good, Goldenboy pretty good on commentary and there is pyro and no shakey-cam

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 09:02 PM

 at WWE doing the cinematic style video package for what happened earlier in the show.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 09:20 PM

Owens vs. Crews was pretty good despite the anti-climatic ending.

Whole show feels like a big waste of time soo far. Its hasn't been terrible but very little meaningful or interesting stuff has happened and been in a dragging point for some time now.

WWE has gone overboard with the amount of non-finishes for their matches in recent weeks and months.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 09:33 PM

Zelina's group might be the worst stable in recent times considering how useless they have been as an actual threat.

After a lengthy US title match, Garza & Andrade interfered to set up an impromptu tag match only to lose said match despite being the fresher of the two teams and the match itself not being long. Didn't even manage to lose by fluke.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 09:42 PM

These sports segments have been just them repeating the same 2-3 jokes each week.

At least on the bright side, its not just them going back and forth trading meaningless wins in the ring like a typical WWE tag feud.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 09:45 PM

 WWE actually caring enough to do two Women's tag title feuds at the same time.

Joe Thomas going half speed last week just to make it close was awesome!

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 10:04 PM

This Rey retirement interview with his son was pretty bad.

Samoa Joe somehow managed to ask the same retirement question back-to-back and got two different answers from Rey.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 10:13 PM

 Truth. Best segment Gronk's been in since he started showing up in WWE.

Droford 06-01-2020 10:14 PM

Time to play spot the match edit

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 10:19 PM

So apparently it wasn't just Sane slipping that caused her to get busted open but Nia chucking her head first into the steps. Even if Sane didn't slip, she probably was going to hit the steps harder and lower than usual since it wasn't a straight whip.

Emperor Smeat 06-01-2020 10:47 PM

Charlotte vs Asuka was very good until that lame countout ending involving Nia Jax.

Two matches tonight that ended on a sour note because WWE keeps taking the lazy way out every time they book themselves in a corner due to not planning things out ahead of time.

Main event was meh. Asuka vs. Flair should have ended the show instead.

This week's RAW was decent at best but not really worth watching in the end.

Compared to last week, this week's wrestlers crowd felt weaker overall and just as micromanaged or low effort as before.

xrodmuc316 06-01-2020 11:45 PM

This was a really boring Raw. Gronk segment was funny, and I enjoyed Orton's backstage promo. Other than that it was pretty unremarkable.

Emperor Smeat 06-02-2020 12:03 AM

Kairi Sane posted a photo after her match aired showing off the gash on her head caused by the steel steps spot.

Not as horrendous as the gash Cody got at AEW Full Gear and scar afterwards but something that's going to leave a mark for a while.

SPOILER: show

Nia Jax is the absolute worst.

Evil Vito 06-02-2020 08:10 AM

lol a grand total of 20 posts during the actual Raw broadcast

Gerard 06-02-2020 01:45 PM

Only reason Jax is even employed is because shes related to the rock (like every other Samoan that has ever existed it would seem). Wonder how long they're gonna let this walking botch machine "work" until she does really serious damage to someone.

drave 06-02-2020 01:50 PM

At this point, it really does seem like she cannot control herself well enough to get things done safely. I know everyone makes mistakes and all, but she seems to really have more than most that lead to injury and not just a bad looking botch.

Fignuts 06-02-2020 02:22 PM

To be fair, it didn't look like she threw her into the stairs any harder than normal for that spot. This one might be on Kairi.

It wouldn't take much from her to throw Kairi as Kairi is probably 90lbs soaking wet, whereas jax is easily north of 280lbs. The spot did look fucked up as you generally don't see them being thrown into the steps headfirst like that, normally they turn and land with their back to them and are "whipped" in to it, whereas that was just Kairi being grabbed by the hair and being thrown face first at them.

This is kinda what I saw when I watched the clip. It is Kairi's responsibility to protect herself, but also up to Nia to keep her safe. To me, it looks like Kairi couldn't even get her balance, let alone stand on both her feet, because of how she was being jerked around.

drave 06-02-2020 04:57 PM

Also not saying shit doesn't happen...... just seems like she should have more time practicing, I dunno.

Also doesn't help that Nia threw her way too close to the steps to begin with. Sane's prep time for impact was like 1 step forward but that got used up by being off-balance from the throw.
