When Morrison signed a year or so ago I remember being intrigued about what he could do in a final run, since I enjoyed a lot of his work elsewhere. I also didn't mind him teaming with The Miz again, it made sense to reintroduce him that way.

From everything I've read the past few months, it sounds like they occasionally team up but it's mostly Miz as a solo guy with Morrison as his hype man. Baffling.

For being short handed it wasn't too bad. Nothing overly great, but better than the lopsided football game.

Short handed? They had one guy on the shelf. It might have been the main guy but this was hardly “most the roster stuck in Saudi Arabia” or “snow storm”, both of which yielded far better results.

There’s so little effort put in. They literally repeated the same beats over and over. Ryker beat Hardy, so Hardy challenged Elias (putting aside the fact that they already ended this feud), then Lashley beat Riddle, so Riddle challenged MVP. There was a men’s tag match that ended with a blind tag, and then a women’s tag that ended with a blind tag.

There’s other stuff; the seemingly never-ending opening segment, and Gulak being told he can’t just declare for the Rumble, and it being rationalised, then Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke declaring themselves for the Rumble within 30 minutes, are the first that spring to mind.

It’s all just very “meh” given the talent they have available to them.

Wait...are they actually trying a Dawn Marie/Torrie/Al Wilson angle with Lacey, Charlotte, and Ric Flair? lol good lord

So including Drew, that is 6 people.

Taker didn’t do it. Hogan didn’t do it. Rock didn’t do it. Triple H hasn’t done it. Flair didn’t do it. Verne didn’t do it. Thesz didn’t do it.

Goldberg being the first guy to do that sort of thing would be pretty lol. And not entirely in a bad way. It’s got this weirdly epic story to it — the “flash in the pan” and WCW man of the 90’s comes back and kicks ass enough time to make the ultimate stamp of longevity.

If you’re going to lean on older stars, it makes sense to have them hit some major achievements too. And given that they’re in such a period of overexposure for their full-time guys, it’s far from the silliest move for the immediate future.

Give me Goldberg beating Drew and then getting his win back at Mania against Braun Strowman. If you want to go big gimmick with it, because fuck it, do a four-way with Orton and Trips. Orton wants to kill the ultimate legend, Triple H wants the same achievement, Braun beat Goldberg last year. Goldberg Spears them all into oblivion. Or just make them singles matches throughout the year. There’s a story in each. Goldberg then drops the belt to someone actually special that comes along.

My point more so was what they delivered was “meh”. Regardless of being short-handed they didn’t need to have those 4 guys wrestle twice, they didn’t need to repeat the setups/finishes to matches in the way that they did.

Let’s pretend that they used literally everybody at their disposal on Monday, they could have put it all together in a more entertaining way, but, you could say that when they have the full roster on hand.

It's not a gotcha, it's a reply to your reply. I said they were short handed, you said it was one person, then you listed 5 other people.

And we could go through how much/little each of those people add to the show but we don’t need to because my overall point is valid; the show was “meh”.
