Sony rumored to be considering dropping their majority control over the Spider-Man license in the near future. The issue at the basis seems to be the main branch (Sony of Japan) being furious recently with their movie division (Sony Pictures) in regards to leaks and data breaches.
If true, Marvel would regain majority control over the Spider-Man series while Fox Studios would be the only outside company left with any majority control over certain Marvel properties (X-Men and Fantastic Four series). The way both companies had deals done meant that as long as a film was made every so often, their majority control status would never end unless it was willingly given up. Quote:

Does anyone know why exactly do networks air certain shows out of order? If the people who make the show make the episodes in a certain order then why mess with that?

Once a show gets into syndication the network can pick episodes out of a hat.

That doesn't tell me the reasoning behind it though. Constantine, Almost Human, etc were out of order. Imagine if they aired Breaking Bad episodes out of order. Once the executives lose faith in a show do they just say fuck it?

According to the recent leaked/hacked emails from Sony Pictures, an animated Super Mario Bros film is in the early stage of development. Hasn't been officially approved yet by either Nintendo or Sony but the person in charge of the film's rights has been in close contact with Sony Pictures for it.

Sony cancelled the theatrical release of The Interview after constant warnings by North Korean hackers and a majority of theaters pulling out due to safety concerns. Won't even bother with skipping to a DVD/VoD release either.

So I guess The Grudge is getting a reboot. Probably in the minority here, but I loved the first two. Just watched the first Japanese one, and it was pretty good. lol at the horrible special effects though.

Some other movie that Steve Carrell was supposed to star in also had its production canceled due to either being set in North Korea, or having something to do with North Korea at least....

To be a bit fair, North Korea complained a lot when games involved making them look bad. Just didn't go as far as what they did to Sony in retaliation and being very specific with their threats back then.
That and the insurance on the film made it easier to get back most of the money already spent for it. |
If I've learned anything from this, it's that trying to get your way by threatening violence apparently works great.

Sony backtracked on canceling The Interview's release. It still won't be shown in theaters but will be getting a release on Crackle for free.

The funny thing is it was most likely just a fan rumor thing that's taken a life on it's own. He's almost guaranteed the part after Daniel's era now.
