Nintendo and Disney currently rumored to be entering a partnership for a variety of media related stuff.

Quote:

Apparently, the two companies have worked out a deal for various kinds of media which will allow both companies to use the others’ IPs. This comes from the same source who leaked the third wave of amiibo, however it has not given any evidence for the specific new rumour.

This doesn’t mean all your amiibo will work in Disney Infinity 3.0 unfortunately, although Bowser knocking seven hells out of Anakin Skywalker would be awesome. It does mean there’s room for Nintendo characters in the future, as Disney is apparently interested in making a Mario figure for Infinity.

Outside of plastic toys, this could also mean Mario and other Nintendo IPs get a bigger role in the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph 2, and a potential Mario/Mickey crossover game.

According to GoNintendo, Nintendo wants to set the pace for how its IPs are used by Disney.
Nintendo's also rumored to be entering a partnership with Amazon although mostly in regards to their upcoming mobile gaming plans.

According to reports, Sony's Uncharted film project recently lost another director with creative differences as the official reason. Film's development has been delayed again although Sony hasn't officially canceled the project.

Quote:

Back in 2009, it was announced that an Uncharted film was already in development. Famed hot-headed director David O. Russell was tapped to direct, and everything seemed to going swimmingly -- until Russell bowed out in 2011, at which point The Illusionist's Neil Burger stepped in. A year later, he also stepped down, only for Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) to step up in 2014.

As of this week according to The Warp, he is now gone due to creative differences.

New Star Wars film is currently in production with the directors of the Lego Movie (Christopher Miller and Phil Lord) hired for the project. Current plans is for the film to arrive in 2018.

Film itself will be a prequel to the original Star Wars film and deals with Hans Solo's life before the events of that film.

Side effect from this news is that the current Flash film in production might need a new director now since those two were working on the project before agreeing on the Hans Solo film.

I wonder if Shia Lebeauf will play young Han Solo....

Probably gonna be Chris Pratt or something....

ClockShot 07-07-2015 08:24 PM

Nah. Shia was supposed to be the heir apparent to Indiana Jones.

Don't think that's happening.

Full trailer for SPECTRE goes up tomorrow morning at 3 a.m. eastern time. I think midnight for our friends in the U.K.

Theme song is supposedly done, too. Who has the honor of performing it is being kept under wraps.

Juan 07-21-2015 06:42 PM

Read somewhere that either Daft Punk or Ellie Goulding are doing the theme

McLegend 07-21-2015 08:37 PM

Daft Punk would be interesting

Charlie Hunham as King Arthur.

Doesn't look very medieval to me.

I will be when it starts back in the UK. August sometime I think.

Saw "Hobo With A Shotgun", and immediately recognized this song at the end and marked the fuck out about The Racoons! My friend thought I made it up, and then YouTube'd it.

An unusually great song for a little known cartoon.

Channing Tatum’s deal with 20th Century Fox to play leading man Remy LeBeau in its upcoming X-Men spin-off film Gambit is allegedly in danger of falling apart, claims a report on TheWrap.

The rumour comes via an unnamed source who claims the star is planning to exit the project.

A second source confirmed to TheWrap that representatives for Tatum remain in active discussions with Fox but apparently conceded that “something is up.”
If it does fall apart, Fox has till October to get a deal done or find someone else since that is when filming is planned to start. Likely won't be able to make its October 2016 release if the situation isn't resolved by then.

Fox confirms they're working on bringing back Prison Break. Hoping to get original stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell back on board, too.

The Destroyer 08-07-2015 01:02 PM

Didn't Wentworth Miller's character die in the finale?

In other bizarre TV news, there's going to be a crossover between Sleepy Hollow and Bones. Riiiiight.

Mr. Robot has turned into quite the little mindfuck. Where's reality again? Is something going to happen in the finale next week to set up a potential second season or was this intended as a "one and done" miniseries?

New Hitman film currently on track to become the worst rated video game film by critics. Currently averaging lower positive scores than Pixels did earlier in the year in terms of recent gaming films.

Quote:

Awful Adam Sandler tax dodge Pixels flirted with a 0% positive reviews yield on film aggregate Rotten Tomatoes last month, but eventually stumbled all the way up to a more respectable 16% positive rating.

So obviously these things change as more reviews, particularly ones from folks who didn't get advance screenings, roll in. Still, Hitman: Agent 47, released today, already has 48 reviews in (Pixels is at 141 after the month) and it is sitting at a laughable 6% positive at time of writing.

Further fun with numbers: sorted by Rotten Tomatoes curated "Top Critics," Pixels has a 9% positive in 32 reviews, Hitman: Agent 47 a 5% positive in 19 reviews, so that's liable to stay under ...

Also note that Hitman (2007), which is also bad, has a 14% positive review rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I read that Xena herself and her husband, one of the Raimi dudes, didn't even know about it happening.

The first episode was so good that every episode afterwards made the whole show seem not as good. I did like the one where they show how Eliot and Shayla met though. I think Mr. Robot is one of those shows where it's probably better viewed if it was edited into a mini-series instead of a regular season.

New animated Castlevania tv show currently in development.

Quote:

On Tuesday, Dredd and Power/Rangers producer Adi Shankar announced on Facebook that he would be producing a "super violent" mini-series based on Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse with Fred Seibert and Kevin Klonde. Fred Siebert is a big name in television (particularly animated television), but the only Google results for Kevin Klonde are people who wrote about this story before we did ...

"It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head," Shankar finished ... In a follow-up interview with Collider, Shankar said that he wants this to be the first American animated series for adults, proving that he's never seen Bojack Horseman.

Interesting. Curious that they choose that game. I'd figure it'd be on the more recent stuff from the DS era.
