It's a defensive posture that permeates even the booking, which is why it's always 50/50, unless someone has the clout to avoid being in the 50/50 club. But the booking itself becomes defensive. Don't offend anyone's fan base. Don't alienate anyone. Please everyone, at all times, and make either apologies offered or excuses given if the audience presents even the slightest backlash. Orton, who has a history of shoulder problems dating back to early in his career, had been working of late on a bad shoulder, but not so bad that he couldn't wrestle. But in taking out the garbage to the curb this past week, the shoulder dislocated and he was in tremendous pain. It took three hours to pop it back into place. He was to have an MRI done to find out the extent of the damage, and if he may need surgery, so his prognosis is not determined.

He apparently has said he would rather have an advertised return than a surprise return. If that's the case, it'll be a huge blow to AAA coming so quickly after losing Myzteziz.

Hopefully Jake Roberts has really mentally turned his life around, because Roberts in Las Vegas full-time and away from DDP would have me worried.

Live on Thursday wouldn't make as much sense as that would be a huge cost increase, plus be somewhat worse for talent. The office would have to fly out to a new city twice a week instead of once. So that's why if it does go live, Tuesday would seem to work best. You can look at the live vs. taped numbers for Raw the few times a year it is taped, and the occasional live Smackdown specials, not to mention the few live TNA shows and the ratings never show a difference. We haven't heard that's a sure thing, but do know WWE was looking at major changes come January, including some being worked on and not finalized.

Hogan's legal team claims the rant was released in order to hurt Hogan as he pursued the lawsuit against Gawker.

The forensic investigation will only cover materials owned by Gawker's founder and chief executive, Nick Denton, Gawker President Heather Dietrick and former Gawker editor AJ Daulerio with searches for specific items within those records, including the terms "racist," "Hulk Hogan," and "DVD details." The expense of the investigation will fall upon Hogan's shoulders and will only cover 6/26-8/6 of this year ...

It should be noted that in at least one case (gossip reporter Nik Richie), the comments were written about online well before Hogan had ever filed his lawsuit against Gawker. The ruling goes into effect next month. Gawker has claimed they will file an appeal.

John Cena: Wrestler Set to Return to WWE to Defend US Title on Dec. 26
Cena is scheduled to defend his title against Sheamus on Dec. 26 at Madison Square Garden in New York. It is set to be his first WWE fight after Oct. 26's "Hell in a Cell" event.
Possible spoilers regarding Cena's Hell in a Cell match based on current WWE ads for his return. To be fair, WWE also has Rollins advertised as WWE champion for the Tribute to the Troops show at the end of the year since he's the current champion at the moment and doesn't guarantee he'd still be by that show.

The latest update to the artwork largely keeps the same front cover revealed last week with the new shot of Owen, but now removes its background.

In order to maintain sensitivity to how Owen tragically passed, the decision was made to remove the lighting rig structures that may have inadvertently given the impression of an arena ceiling.

A correction regarding Insane Championship Wrestling and its ticket sales. The Barrowlands in Glasgow, which we reported they twice drew 3,000 fans at, was actually set up for 1,600 both times they sold it out. The SECC show, also in Glasgow, on 11/15, did claim to have almost sold out a 5,000 seat arena (actually they are now saying it sold out in the last few days), but promoter Mark Dallas actually in August admitted the real number was closer to 4,000. Still, for an indie show to draw that today is amazing, since nobody has done that on the U.K. scene aside from American promotions in more than 30 years. That's pretty telling as well as far as how big British wrestling was in the 80s if they almost never had shows do more than 4,000 fans. While U.K. historian John Lister said it was the biggest crowd by any U.K. promotion since a February 1982 sold out show at Royal Albert Hall headlined by Pete Roberts vs. Wayne Bridges, Rollerball Rocco vs. Kung Fu Eddie Hamill and Johnny Grey vs. Johnny Saint, the ICW is billing it as the largest crowd for a U.K. promotion since a 1981 match with Big Daddy vs. Giant Haystacks at Wembley Arena.
Small resurgence in British indie wrestling has been going on during the past few months.

Some other sheet news includes:
  • Indie promotion Revolution Pro signed a deal with NJPW which involves the co-branded RevPro-NJPW events being added to NJPW World service. Rev Pro will get a small timed window for exclusive rights to show replays before being moved over to NJPWW. https://twitter.com/reasonjp/status/657484490378342400
  • NXT tag team called "The Mechanics" got renamed to just Dash & Dawson now based on the recent NXT tapings.

Haven't been called The Mechanics in some time now....

Emperor Smeat 10-23-2015 10:38 PM

NXT announcers seemed to go back and forth with how they'd call the team's name for a while. Sometimes got called just as Dash & Dawson and other times as the Mechanics or a mix of both.

Even their actual wrestler names would go back and forth with how it was called. Sometimes the announcers would just ignore both guys first name.

GFW Women’s Champion: Christina Von Eerie

GFW Tag Team Champions: The Bollywood Boyz

GFW NEX*GEN Champion: PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel)

How about the title can be won by anyone employed by the company? Like for example the referee or Jim in accounting could win it.

Mr. Nerfect 10-24-2015 09:53 PM

I really like Dash & Dawson, but God dammit do they need better names. "Dawson" just sounds soft to me. Like Dawson's Creek or something. He should be Scott Anderson, just playing up that Anderson association he gets. Dash Wilder? How about "Wild" Thrash Conroy? Or McCoy. Or McGregor. Something with "Mc" in it. If he needs a human first name, give him something manly, like Greg or Bruce. Why does the WWE not have a Bruce?

Scott Anderson & Bruce Wilder. There you go.
