I don’t know why people are convinced advertisers care that much about 300k 47 year old white nerds. I mean, that’s a big Meltzer work to make them look good, but it is going to be funny as they have birthdays and move into the 50+ demo and suddenly Meltzer says it’s important to grow that.

475k for Rampage. Glad to see people tuned in for the CM Punk announcement and what MJF would do next.

LOL, from 1.1 million to 475,000 in 9 months, Phillip such a proven draw!

Mr. Nerfect 06-07-2022 04:07 AM

But yes, 1.48 million — a whole million more than this — is a record low.

drave 06-07-2022 08:04 AM

Needing to beat them with their own ratings is a pretty big self-own.

drave 06-07-2022 01:53 PM

Not at all, but noting a record low for their product is something "to note" to those who care

drave 06-07-2022 01:57 PM

Also of note would be if they were to set all time highs.

Bad News Gertner 06-09-2022 07:20 PM

939,000 for Dynamite.

Mr. Nerfect 06-09-2022 08:28 PM

It’s lower? But how? They shot that hot angle last week. At least it isn’t in as bad shape as Raw.

xrodmuc316 06-09-2022 09:06 PM

I thought for sure the return of megastar cultural icon Wheeler Yuta's return woukd have pulled in at least 14 million, what happened?

No you have it wrong. Wheeler isn't a megastar "per say" but he is a mega star in the mind of Tony Kahn so if you'd like to play into his work of imaginary you can choose to ride hard for Wheeler Yuta, the next Lex Luger!

slik 06-16-2022 04:47 PM

761k for Dynamite, #2 for the night

Forbidden Door, Forbidden Ratings

Bad News Gertner 06-16-2022 05:03 PM

Maybe Vince paid another $3 million to Neilson to have AEW's numbers lowered

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2022 05:11 PM

I think, realistically, to judge this cross-promotion, you’ve got to wait until the numbers are doing what I want them to do.

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2022 05:11 PM

This was a special episode too, wasn’t it?

XL 06-16-2022 05:12 PM

Oof.

What were they up against this week?

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills by the looks of it.

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2022 05:37 PM

It’s hard to feel sorry for them.

Tony Khan after he sees this week's ratings:

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2022 06:27 PM

Tony Khan does have a lot in common with the Desperate Housewives, beyond leading with their emotions. They’re at the same level as bookers and none of them can properly blink their eyes.

Bad News Gertner 06-16-2022 07:10 PM

Tony has alot in common with the Real Housewives actually. They all like to spend other people's money.

Bad News Gertner 06-20-2022 05:51 PM

331,000 for Rampage

You beat me to posting this. Even the most hardcore followers of this are saying “Ok yeah that’s bad…”

This crossover thing has not been working for AEW. I don’t know if it’s helping New Japan any. It didn’t help Impact. But this is hurting AEW even if you considered their meek numbers impressive for whatever reason.

The handling of Punk’s injury versus the handling of Cody’s is also very exposing. Bryan has been off. The risky thing with bringing in stars, even if you misuse them, is that fans get used to them and miss them when they’re gone.

I don’t think anyone could argue that the product is getting either hotter or better.

the show oversaturated itself. the roster doesnt have the depth for 2 shows and neither does the booker

AEW has already won the Friday Night War.

XL 06-21-2022 04:48 AM

To be fair, Vince hit-shotted himself on to TV, might have been almost 2 hours before Rampage started but the TV audience was clearly spent after that emotional and impassioned speech. Can’t blame them for not being able to catch a third hour of wrestling on the night.

Mr. Nerfect 06-21-2022 04:56 AM

AEW is the premier brand of wrestling in the world. It’s the hot thing no matter how popular it is.

XL 06-21-2022 05:29 AM

AEW is like your art house/independent movies; objectively great, critically acclaimed, unable to break through commercially.
