Am I the only one that found Ghost In The Shell dull?

Maybe it's because I prefer bizzare, weird, funny, quirky stuff but I just didn't think much of it.

Vietnamese Crippler 07-01-2008 06:16 PM

I wouldn't say dull. I liked it but it didn't pull me in as quickly as some other shows.

LoDownM 07-01-2008 06:18 PM

Can someone explain Deathnote to me in 50 words or less? I've yet to catch on to the series.

Bored genius finds book, book allows him to kill criminals, cat and mouse game ensues between the #1 detective in the world and genius.

No.

Kalyx triaD 07-04-2008 11:18 AM

From Street Fighter 4:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-iftzupWMFc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-iftzupWMFc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Awesome.

MCEazy 07-07-2008 08:22 PM

anyone going to any conventions this year?

Kalyx triaD 07-07-2008 08:25 PM

At best it'll be one in my area. I went to a cool one last year and seen some cool cosplayers and some celebs.

Redeemer 07-10-2008 10:37 AM

That Street Fighter anime clip is off the chain. Is that the intro to the game or something?

I'm going to Amecon in the UK in a few weeks. Cosplaying as Shinji Ikari and also got myself a Alchemists Uniform.

Most likely, and there should be others as well.

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2010 08:33 PM

Gonna rewatch Trigun and Fullmetal Alchemist (first show, not Brothers). Also gonna dive back into Basilisk (only finished 12 episodes) and maybe get into Witchblade.

Fignuts 11-24-2010 08:41 PM

I started watching Claymore on netflix. Kind of done with it already. Just seems boring.

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2010 09:03 PM

Read about that last year. It was praised by a chick and I thought I'd check it out in the future. Now I'm weary...

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2010 09:05 PM

Basilisk OP Theme Live:

Shadow 11-24-2010 09:11 PM

I also checked out Claymore on Netflix. It confused me in the first episode. But not in a way I wanted to watch more.

Then I found Vandread.

Dark-Slicer Diago 11-26-2010 05:36 PM

I kinda enjoyed these, among with Bleach,Death Note,Trigun

Shikabane Hime(Corpse Princess)
<EMBED height=385 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=640 src=http://www.youtube.com/v/3mOqwhbLUZw?fs=1&hl=en_US allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></EMBED>

Sengoku Basara

Kalyx triaD 11-26-2010 05:59 PM

Wanna check out Sengoku, heard a lot about it.

Fignuts 11-26-2010 06:04 PM

Love Bleach, though I have to admit that the whole Aizen saga has a pretty anti-climatic ending.

Elfen Lied is really good.

Vietnamese Crippler 11-26-2010 06:15 PM

Yeah, that arc just ENDED, no real fanfare, nothing. Now the new arc makes no sense at all :o

Beth Phoenix Fan 11-26-2010 06:18 PM

My Favorite would be Dragonball Z

http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/3...main_large.jpg

android 18 is my favorite character.

SPOILER: show
There was at least a delicious bit of irony in Aizen getting Aizen-stomped though.

McLegend 11-26-2010 11:39 PM

This Captain Amagi arc better lead to something good.

I really wish I could watch Death Note for the first time again.

Fignuts 11-27-2010 12:13 AM

Amagi is a filler character that is only in the anime, so whatever you are watching isn't going anywhere.

McLegend 11-27-2010 01:07 AM

Yeah that's what I thought. Filler in Anime just might be the worse thing ever. I wish it didn't exist.

Fignuts 11-27-2010 01:55 AM

Um, you know that that arc happened quite a while back right?

They are on episode 298 right now.

It got pretty ridiculously bizarre by the end.

But the kid is so annoying I constantly want to watch him die.

Like, they could make a show entirely of him dying, over and over, and I'd watch it. As long as it was slow and varied.

Fignuts 11-27-2010 02:03 AM

Oh god, hate that kid so much. Another reason I stopped watching.

Yeah but I just watch it on Adult Swim, and I don't look that far ahead with spoilers and other various things.

I wonder how long it will be before Aizen makes a comeback since he's immortal and all

Fignuts 11-27-2010 02:51 PM

I think it will be quite a while. Maybe if the spirit king becomes an enemy.

Also, I like where the current arc is going. One thing about kubo is that he's good at creating enigmatic, mysterious characters. It's always fun reading stories that have revelations about them as well. Really like the whole "turn back the clock" mini-arc, and this new arc looks like it might be a similar story, this time involving Ichigo's father.

Vietnamese Crippler 11-27-2010 03:00 PM

I guess this new arc just feels like when the Vizard were introduced, so it feels familiar and a little uninspired.

But I really do want for the arc to dive into Isshin's story.

Fignuts 11-27-2010 03:07 PM

SPOILER: show
Urahara possibly being a villain. Dunno how I feel about that one. It would be brilliant if it could be pulled off right. And Aizen said himself that Urahara was smarter than him, so it is within his capabilities to manipulate everyone on that big a scale. We'll see I guess.

Yeah, nobody would blame you for that one.

I expected heavy character development. Clare gets a little character development in an arc that deals with why she became a Claymore, but everyone else is fucking flat (and she's pretty flat, too). The kid is a whiny bitch to the end, which really killed any shot of character development.

If he had gone from whiny bitch to competent and useful, that'd be one thing. But even when he was fighting a Claymore, he was a whiny bitch.

I finished Fullmetal Alchemist and Gungan Lagomorph recent. I need to check out brotherhood. Gundam Lambda was far more entertaining than I expected.

It was also the gayest thing I've ever seen, but still.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2010 05:40 PM

BROTHERLY COMBINING

Kalyx triaD 11-30-2010 10:29 AM

Finished Fullmetal Alchemist (1st show) for the second time, this time watching all 51 eps and not missing the 3 or 4 I did years ago. Did not know Johnny Bosch had a cameo eps. Cried a total three times during the series. Love this show.

Now on to Basilisk.

Blitz 11-30-2010 11:00 AM

Damn there's a Sengoku Basara anime? May need to check out.

Ermaximus 11-30-2010 11:21 AM

Jonny Young Bosch is a piece of shit. True story.

Anyone looking for something new, try Seiken No Qwasar. It's about this guy who gets power by sucking tits. Then he kills the bitches.
