Owen Hart episode ended up surpassing the Chris Benoit 2-hour episode as the most watched episode in series history by around 29,000 viewers.
Benoit episode had 320k while the Owen episode had 349k. |
David Bixenspan just found a report that stated Max Mini was originally supposed to be attached to Owen the night of the fall but they decided against it.

I thought the blood on the ring was from a Brood "Blood Bath" or the hardcore match that took place earlier in the night.
|
Yeah I had thought something happened on Heat.
I think the Brood gave the Hardyz a bloodbath or something like that |
Yeah I found it, Matt touches the mat after the blood bath

Goldust and Blue Meanie vs Hardyz /w/ Michael Hayes.
I totally forgot both were a thing. |
Michael Hayes should never have been encouraged to wear that shirt the Hardy's used to wear. It was too tight on his bulky old frame.
He looked so sweaty and hairy. |
I remember thinking Michael Hayes getting to manage the Hardys would be game changing for them. It certainly got them going in the right direction.
|
Michael Hayes going to a rave later on
|
Oh yeah, forgot about this match. I always remember the two brothers in the crowd doing some sort of jive handshake after Bradshaw clotheslines Jeff out of mid air.

Of course Hayes is in the shirt in that video.

For those interested, the Observer had a free episode of their Observer Radio show yesterday with Martha Hart as the guest and uploaded it afterwards on their Youtube channel.

Vince McMahon is really some piece of shit. More the reason I hope WWE goes under before Vince dies. So he has to see his baby die.

First, unfortunately, money and PR almost undoubtedly had a large role in no one being charged criminally. Second, it's difficult and rarely a slam dunk to prove recklessness or negligence, especially in a criminal case where the standard for conviction is the much higher, beyond a reasonable doubt. Third, assuming that Vince was likely not directly responsible or involved in any of the actual engineering, planning, use, or selection of the equipment that failed or was inadequate, it would be increasingly difficult to prove that Vince himself essentially knew or should have known that use of the equipment involved would have likely caused the death of Owen. Talbert would be a more likely candidate, but that would still be a tough ask. It's also possible that additional evidence the state may have felt it needed to prove negligence or recklessness did not become available or apparent until after the statute of limitations period of three years had passed. There's also the idea that, for the WWE people involved, it was unforeseeable that the equipment manufacturer would be negligent in making or recommending the inadequate equipment, and the manufacturer's negligence was an intervening cause or act negating any culpability to anyone personally involved from WWE. |

Is season 3 confirmed?
|
I don't believe it has
|
No but one of the top people at VICE mentioned a few weeks ago about them being eager for a new season and also plans for a spin-off series.
|
Oh yeah, I forgot about that
|
Season 3 wishlist
1. Chris Adams 2. Chris Adams 3. Chris Adams 4. Chris Adams 5. Chris Adams |
On the Conrad "Darkside of the Podcast" they made it feel like they need a break but they hope to do season 3 in the future. They are tired and want to work on other projects for now it seems.
|
I don't blame them for wanting to take a break since the second season did feel a lot more darker and depressing in tone than the first.
|
One of the producers that his dream would be to do a Vince McMahon series of like 20 episodes, interviewing him in relation to all of the crazy stories he's involved in. Goddamn I hope that could happen.
|
Vince McMahon is like the fairies in Peter Pan, if you believe in him hard enough he will make all of your dreams come true Jordan.
|
According to PWI, VICE recently ordered a third season for the series with a potential debut date of April 2021.
Also according to the series composer, Dark Side of the Ring was originally planned to be called "Falls Count Anywhere" and wasn't meant to be as dark in tone for episodes. Quote:

It's why they had a civil case instead of a criminal case. Had the clamp broke or the cable snapped, it would still be very hard to prove criminal charges, but their would be an argument to bring charges. Without that, they did what they could and held Vince financially responsible. |
