What value has been added to that gif by the maker changing it to be black and white?

Poit 12-26-2013 04:09 PM

I was expecting the impact of the knee to bring color back into the world. I'm disappointed.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2013 04:26 PM

Why has no one illegally scanned and uploaded the new WWE Comic Book yet? Seriously can't find it anywhere, and I want to laugh at it.

Emperor Smeat 12-26-2013 04:34 PM

No one bought it yet?

Maybe someone in the gif is bleeding.

Jake Roberts says he has had no contact with WWE. Unless it's a ruse, it's looking less and less likely that he'll be achieving that goal he set of appearing in the Rumble. Seems like WWE would jump at the chance to simply use a Rumble spot on that kind of success story/surprise entry. Unless there's some bad blood that I'm not aware of which would also explain why he's not in the Hall of Fame.

Emperor Smeat 12-26-2013 05:22 PM

Health issues are probably the biggest concern the WWE has. He's been slowly getting better the past year but doubt the WWE really wants to risk him getting hurt or WWE's insurance won't cover him getting in the ring.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2013 05:27 PM

Plus facing the facts, he just isn't that big of a deal. Most of the younger audience won't know who he is, he hasn't been presented to the younger generation as a "legendary figure". WWE would probably rather give a special guest spot to Rikishi Fatu.

Rammsteinmad 12-26-2013 06:34 PM

Yeah, couldn't really imagine anyone caring about Jake. And to be honest, his "recovery" hasn't exactly been hugely publicized. I doubt anyone knows or cares.

Mr. Nerfect 12-26-2013 07:00 PM

Jake Roberts could be treated as a big deal, but I'm not sure how people would respond right away. Good on Jake for getting healthy though.

Maxine was so fucking hot. I'd love to see the WWE give her another shot as a manager. She'd be terrific at it.

mike adamle 12-26-2013 07:23 PM

accidentally double posted with the one under noids under this

Mr. Nerfect 12-26-2013 07:28 PM

It wouldn't be bad, but it's not really necessary. You could use the Rumble spot to get a young guy over.

mike adamle 12-26-2013 07:29 PM

Jake is a legend, him overcoming his addiction is HUGE, and it'd be even bigger if WWE allowed him in the Rumble. I've got a feeling he's working the twitter sheep and is slated for the match already.

It's not like he needs to be in there for 20 minutes or even 10 minutes or anything. His music can hit sometime in the teens or twenty's and the place will erupt. He can hit the ring with his laundry bag, dump out the snake, and clear the ring while he catches say Curtis Axel, Fandango, Heath Slater, or a heel Miz and puts the snake on him. He can then give someone the DDT and MAYBE eliminate a person or two before getting eliminated himself. It could happen as fast as before the next person enters the match. It'd accomplish everything needed to be accomplished there, giving Jake the huge comeback and goodbye that he wanted along with showing everyone how well he's doing and how far he's come, and it gives the fans probably the biggest surprise they can give us now that Batista has been spoiled.

Mr. Nerfect 12-26-2013 07:31 PM

I'm trying to imagine what Christian will be doing at WrestleMania XXX. I can't really think of anything. :(

As I said, it wouldn't be bad. I'd enjoy it. So would the live crowd and the audience at home. But there are bigger surprises than Jake, surely.

mike adamle 12-26-2013 07:46 PM

Like who?

Rammsteinmad 12-26-2013 07:47 PM

I don't even know what his music is. And Jake probably can't even do the DDT anymore. I was on a show that he wrestled on ten years ago and he couldn't even bump then.

So according to the Wrestling Observer website these are the 4 big matches planned for WrestleMania at the present time:

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt for the WWE Title in the main event
Triple H vs. CM Punk (Or Roman Reigns as a back up)
Batista vs. Randy Orton
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

I didn't see anything about Daniel Bryan.

XL 12-26-2013 08:06 PM

That Main Event seems a little off.

Big E Langston unifies the midcard titles, a heel Christian wins it off of him at Wrestlemania.

Watching TNA Impact. Dixie Carter cut off by her own music and a commercial break whilst trying to make an announcement. Not the best at being in charge of things.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2013 09:20 PM

What a great opening. Dixie Carter tries to make an announcement, interrupted by Jeff Hardy, then Sting, then her own music and a commercial break, then Gunner, then James Storm.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2013 09:23 PM

Finally Dixie decides not to make her announcement, but will make the announcement later tonight.

According to Dave Meltzer and the Wrestling Observer, the tentative plans for Mania right now are these matches:

WWE Title - Orton vs Batista OR whoever beats Orton at the Rumble vs Rumble winner
Streak match - Taker vs Lesnar
Triple H vs CM Punk OR Triple H vs Roman Reigns
Reigns vs Langston for the IC belt (if Reigns vs HHH doesn't occur)
Cena vs Bray Wyatt OR Hogan/Cena vs the Wyatts OR Sheamus vs Cena
Daniel Bryan vs HBK (assuming HBK agrees to unretire)
Cody Rhodes vs Goldust

Rest of the card probably gets decided very close to Mania itself.

Quote:

While this could change, right now they have a Batista vs. Orton match scheduled for WrestleMania. He’s actually been on the books to be at Mania this year for a few months, probably dating back to around the period the first rumors came out that he denied, about coming back.

Batista is expected to be in the Royal Rumble. If Orton ends up as the champion at Mania, then the original plan was likely for Batista to win the Rumble. If Orton loses the title, then the plan was likely for whoever gets the shot at the new champion to be the guy who takes the Rumble.
Quote:

HHH vs. C.M. Punk is now on the books for Mania as the climax of The Authority angle. Roman Reigns is a back-up plan for HHH’s opponent, but there was a Langston vs. Reigns singles match tease on TV this week, and I don’t see that taking place at the Rumble because that would seem way too soon, and the Elimination Chamber is a multiple-person main event. Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar is also still on the books for WrestleMania.

With all the top guys seemingly taken, that would still seem that Cena is in for something to do with Hogan in some form, since Cena should be involved if they do a Hogan final deal type of show. As of last week, Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, believe it or not, was the main event planned for the show. Vince McMahon stated to the writers and producers that “Cena is the main event until his time is clearly up. That man feeds us!”
Quote:

The booking is based on the idea Hogan won’t be able to do a match or pass the medicals. That still leaves a Bryan vs. Michaels spot open (as noted, everyone internally is being told Michaels will not work another match, as are friends of Michaels, but even so I wouldn’t reject that possibility 100%) as well as a lot of other guys not accounted for. Sheamus doing a heel turn could be a backup plan for Cena if they don’t think Wyatt is ready for that spot, but that would be tough to put as the main event. It’s a match that was done for months straight and as a main event program, and while it’s foolish to think that Mania has to be all new matches, Cena vs. Sheamus doesn’t feel like a Mania main event. Sheamus’ shoulder hasn’t recovered yet, which may cut into the time to get him over enough to be in that position, if that can even be done at this point, unless there was a great idea to heat him up.
Quote:

One match that was earmarked for the show, Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust, to me would be a big mistake. The two wanted to do the match last year, and even had an angle put in place to start it, but Vince McMahon vetoed it. This year, the tag team was originally set to lead to a split and a match at Mania. The problem is, the two have ended up forming a good team and not only is it way too early to split them, I think splitting them and feuding wouldn’t work now, and may never work. Real brothers feuding only works when there is a story with real meat and believability to it (Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart). When it’s done when there’s no real good reason that people can buy (Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy, and no, nobody believed Matt set fire to Jeff’s house and killed his dog) you can spend months building up a cartoon feud and the people will crap all over it. Plus, both have far more upsides together than either would separate for the time being, and for Goldust, it’s a career saver because once they split, no matter how good a worker he is, they aren’t going to push him as a single at his age..

James Steele 12-26-2013 10:15 PM

 Meltzer is a dumbass. He doesn't see any potential for a great Cody vs Goldy build? They have so much stuff to use with Goldust's fucked up life, Cody/Dusty never really giving Goldy is due appreciation/respect, etc. It could get very emotional and very "meaty". Tag Team wrestling is fucking dead. WWE has always been a singles star focused promotion anyway. Cody vs Goldy makes a shitload more sense and money for them and WWE than doing Rhodes Bros. vs ___________ Part XVIII at WrestleMania.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2013 10:59 PM

Jeff Hardy loses his smile

#1-norm-fan 12-27-2013 12:17 AM

Cena should definitely be in THE main event. As in the final match or a match that at least makes sense as a possible final match. As much as I love Bray Wyatt, they'd have to have something monumental planned for him vs Cena in the main event to work.

James Steele 12-27-2013 12:58 AM

I honestly think that is bullshit. WWE has plans for Bray Wyatt, but it seems like a possibility for WM31. I could see them trying to force it since WM is in New Orleans and the Wyatts are basically portrayed as some backwater swamp cult. They could get Bray Wyatt to that level, but they would have to take the whole gimmick and storyline to a much darker place (think 99 Taker without the over-the-top shenanigans) and I don't think WWE is willing to take a gimmick to that dark of a place in the PG Era.

I kind of fear that they may try to ride out the Duck Dynasty bullshit. I really hope I am wrong.

I'm still not convinced that Bray isn't misdirection and the breakout star of the group being Luke Harper.

I'd be happy with Jimmy the Snake coming in the rumble instead and just doing this.
