Looks like someone watched the Power Rangers reboot and said "hey, I have an idea"

Just read it's based on some 90s Canadian show. Does not sound good.

Only Canadian show I know is the one with Drake in the wheelchair.

The animated series was pretty good imo

The original was fn fantastic. Super advanced for its time. It still holds up, imo.

When I heard what this was going to be I thought it was an awful idea. It was. Totally unwatchable. It's not even "fun" bad. Has almost nothing to do with the original.

I read the episode summaries after 15 minutes of watching the first episode to see if there would be anything redeeming anywhere in this dreck and there is a smidge in the last episode for any of you who liked the original.

Yeah Power Rangers hasn't been rebooted ever. It just...stopped for a few years then came back. This? This is someone taking my childhood and taking a jackhammer to it.

Destor - I believe the original has a musical number in the last episode (of the first season? - someone help me out) so this is right up your alley.

Just like I said in the other thread that came up with this in it, it looks way too "Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad" for me to be interested.

The new blood they're looking to draw in will ask what this shit is, and the fans of the original show will ask what this shit is, just in a different tone. It will be like the Jem movie: total ass through no fault of the original IP, but will cause said IP to be buried all the same.

That is also not a reboot as Power Rangers never had a film franchise to boot in the first place.

And no I don't count that first film with the plastic costumes or Turbo a Power Rangers Movie either.

Idea sounded terrible the first time I heard about it being a live-action hybrid and that trailer did nothing to change my mind.

Third season in general is great.

First two are more "kid friendly", but then they changed networks or something or otherwise got less restrictions/censorship, and the show became "more mature" in the third season.
