No it doesn't. It's where today's consoles are at.
|
They never stated which consoles the game is for at the end of the trailer. Given how big the map is and how good it looks, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a next gen launch game.
Though, no one but Nintendo has a console coming out any time soon and R* aren't going to dangle GTA V in front of us for 2+ years. |

What? That looks like current gen. If that's all next-gen has to offer us, then I'm already disappointed. Why do people think that looks like anything past what current gen can do? Seems like they are really just 'pushing the limitations' of the current gen.
|
Looks like V is in the same universe as IV, according to some people.
GTA IV (All 3 episodes) spoiler: SPOILER: show |
Based on how things went with GTAIV, I'd say this is def a current gen game, though possibly a WiiU launch title.
IV's trailer debuted end of March '07 and had an October '07 launch date, though that did get delayed to April '08 due to technical issues with the PS3 and storage issues with 360, things that shouldn't be a problem now. So if they're showing it off now, it's probably just about done and almost ready for release, and with Sony and Microsoft not saying shit about their new consoles yet, I just can't see this being a next gen title |

Extreme Angle must be unknowingly playing his games in standard definition.

Was hoping you would forget that. I gave you Chinatown Wars.

Looks sleeker than IV to me...
|
Thank god the real thread is here finally. Was getting anxious.
|
Don't almost all sequels to any game look sleeker, even when on the same console? Having more experience with the system can make all the difference
|
It could very well be the PC version that they are showing.
Also, developers still haven't tapped the full potential of the current gen consoles. |
Grand Theft Auto V will be set in Rockstar's fictional world of San Andreas.
San Andreas is a fictional U.S Southwestern state which includes three cites based on real U.S cities - Los Santos, (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). Rockstar has a habit of tweaking its cities, and GTA V is set in modern day, so it's possible that area names and the city's layout will change. Previously, it has only appeared in one game - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which came out in 2004. That game was based in the early 1990s against a a backdrop of drug crimes and gang warfare. It drew heavily upon cultural references such as the movie Boyz n the Hood and musical influences such as Tupac. San Andreas differs from GTA 4's Liberty City not only in that it comprises three cities - and rural territory between them - but also in its heavy California culture. GTA: San Andreas remains the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1211341p1.html |
Some good facts there.
I heard you can drive cars in this one. |
Future warning, I will shiv anyone who says the narrator is an old Tommy Vercetti.
|
Looks like the rumors were true. There will be police in this one.
|
The 360 version wont look like that without some form of installation

Why are you guys still posting in this old thread? I don't know if you're aware of this, but the poster formerly known as the poster formerly known as DS is a GTA thread legend around these parts. You will be missing out on all kinds of vital information which will only be posted first-hand in The Official GTA V Thread.

Probably going to pre-order this game, which I don't do often.
|
GTA V: San Andreas pretty much then. Good times. If there is no VC in this, I pray that they just get something bashed out as add. content or something to go there. I'm a sucker for VC, so if it's gonna be a PS4 release then cool.
Anyway, back to now, YAY LOS SANTOS. |
Wonder if they just upgraded the engine, or if they've reworked huge portions of it.
Hoping for some upgrade to vehicle physics mostly. What was that bit about it being similar to the feel of RDR? Was RDR it's own engine, or did they borrow heavily from the GTA engine? |
RDR used Rage/Euphoria just like GTA and I'm sure there have been plenty of tweaks to it at this point.
Mostly hoping for a PC version on release. But with the history of the series I'm not going to be shocked if there isn't. |
Would love for a Steam release.

I don't see the first one at all but the second I would guess is a good chance. The third would be a pretty good jab after the money issue with the voice actor for Niko. |

Looks like a blimp in the first picture.
Can't wait to crash a blimp into a busy freeway. |
Something that I thought of by myself and did not steal from anywhere else

Homeless guy in GTA V trailer. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...witz-TBOGT.JPG The same homeless guy in GTA IV. Jerry Kapowitz is the guy that found the diamonds at the end of TBoGT and he left for Vice City with his new wealth. Clearly things didn't go well and he ended up homeless again on the other side of the country, in San Andreas. |
Gonna blare Flight of the Valkyries while flying my blimp around in multiplayer.

This morning, the Grand Theft Auto V trailer exploded on the Internet with a voice that sounds and a character that looks a lot like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City protagonist Tommy Vercetti. IGN argued during our livestream as to whether or not the voice was indeed Goodfellas star and Vice City voice Ray Liotta, and now we have an answer.
Ray Liotta's voice is not in the trailer. IGN reached out to Liotta's representatives, and they confirmed that the actor's golden pipes aren't in the trailer. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1211384p1.html Well glad that's settled. |

If there's one thing that trailer shows it's that there's a lot of blimps. There is a blimp is like every other scene.

And with the shot of beach gym I wouldn't be surprised if work outs made a return. |
