Which NXT rookie do you see the most potential in?

Not including Daniel Bryan Danielson, considering there's a lot more to judge him off of than his two showings on NXT. I'm more interested in who, out of the seven true newcomers, you guys see the most potential in (take that however you may).

Blitz 03-03-2010 01:32 AM

David Otunga and Wade Barret.

Nark Order 03-03-2010 01:36 AM

Wade Barrett for his voice alone. He's like James Earl Jones and Patrick Stewart combined.

Emperor Smeat 03-03-2010 01:42 AM

Wade Barrett for his style of voice and based on his promo Tuesday, he already has a basis for a WWE character (Dibiase-lite with the dream of making millions of dollars than fans or glory).

Wildcard pick : Sheffield since he has the physique that Vince likes and if he's willing to make the goof-ball strongman work as a character, then it should also be easy to make a Batista-like character possible as a heel (similar to Batista's turn against Rey Mysterio).

I'd say Barrett too...has the size Vince likes, very workable gimmick that can evolve and grow as he climbs the ladder, has some decent charisma, and seemingly can navigate his way around a ring.

el bobbo 03-03-2010 02:32 AM

Wade Barret reminds me of a character from "Lock Stock and Two Smokin Barrels" or "Snatch." Some British Guy Ritchie prototype that would fit well in the WWE.

I like that his character doesn't give a damn and just wants to get paid.

Skippord 03-03-2010 03:12 AM

Barret

or Young as Bizarro Cena

Fignuts 03-03-2010 03:14 AM

Wade Barret easily.

DaVe 03-03-2010 03:35 AM

Wade Barret's voice is freaking sick. He's got it, imo.

Wade Barret. That's a few English/Scot/Irish wrestlers on the WWE roster. Now we just need a Welshman.

VSG 03-03-2010 10:55 AM

Thats MISTER Wade Barett to you :naughty:

Indifferent Clox 03-03-2010 11:01 AM

Gabriel's spaceman suit IS the future

Inadequacy 03-03-2010 11:18 AM

I'd like to see a Wade Barret/Daniel Bryan feud in the next couple of years.

Like one of those Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit type feuds that's always present.

Indifferent Clox 03-03-2010 11:25 AM

Yeah Barret looks pretty sick

Nicky Fives 03-03-2010 11:35 AM

Barrett definately has the look, but I can see Slater in a long-term mid-card role for many years to come

HBPunk 03-03-2010 11:48 AM

Barrett definately, he could be really big. Heath Slater might get over with his haircut alone

Vastardikai 03-03-2010 01:04 PM

If there's a way they can get Sheffield to fuse his Dusty Rhodes-like smoothness on the mic with Stan Hansen's mean streak, he could go all they way. That why I went with him.

I also have to say that Wade Barrett is the real deal. His voice reminds me a bit of a British Jesse Ventura.

The Show Off 03-03-2010 01:10 PM

I voted Tarver, don't know why I think is 1.9 second gimmick can get him over early and I think he seems to have a good amount of personality to evolve beyond that.

Sixx 03-03-2010 01:13 PM

Probably Slater, cause he's related to HBK.

Anybody Thrilla 03-03-2010 02:28 PM

I'm actually a little surprised at how 'not awful' all of these 'rookies' are.

I think that speaks in equal parts to their talent, and the fact that the WWE is doing a damn good job in getting them over and highlighting strengths...credit where credit is due.

Joesgonnakillyou 03-03-2010 03:19 PM

I haven't seen a full episode yet, is skip sheffield as bad as he looks?

I voted Barrett from what i've seen so far he's clearly the best

James Steele 03-03-2010 05:40 PM

Gabriel looked mighty impressive, and the 450 Splash = ratings.

St. Jimmy 03-03-2010 05:46 PM

none of them.

A move can get you over for a bit, then it gets stale if that is al you get

See Bourne, Evan

Innovator 03-03-2010 06:34 PM

Was split between Gabriel and Darren Young

Jeritron 03-03-2010 08:19 PM

Wade Barret is quite over on TPWW

VSG 03-03-2010 10:55 PM

Who voted for Darren Young?

Damian Rey 03-03-2010 11:00 PM

Went with Barret based on look and voice alone. He's a good sized guy, and his voice is just epic. Didn't really have a match that allowed me to get a good look at him last night, but so far I like what I see.

Sixx 03-03-2010 11:37 PM

He totally looks like some black actress, whose name I can't remember.

Loose Cannon 03-03-2010 11:51 PM

wow, most of us agree Wade Barret. me too.

In public polls such as this one, you can click on the number of votes in a poll category to see specifically who voted for each option. In this case, the answer is: Xero.

VSG 03-04-2010 09:55 AM

Ah thanks for the info, and not really surprised :D

thedamndest 03-06-2010 07:19 PM

1) Daniel Bryan
2) Wade Barrett
3) David Otunga
4) Justin Gabriel
5) Heath Slater
6) Darren Young
7) Skip Sheffield
8) Michael Tarver

Based on who can wrestle, talk, and is married to Jennifer Hudson. I also factored in what Pro has what Rookis because it may affect booking (thus Christian's guy is automatically higher than Regal and Carlito's guy). Time will tell if that proves to be true.

teamXtremist 03-06-2010 09:35 PM

justin gabriel a bit up there in age for a high flier but i think he hs some serious talent

I was about to say that the poll should be "Bryan Danielson or someone else".

treyace 03-07-2010 07:28 PM

id say justin
he's better then slater atleast

Mr. Nerfect 03-08-2010 01:37 AM

Justin Gabriel will surprise people, I think. He's a high-flyer with good looks and a foreign accent. He's also paired with Matt Hardy, who is really over. He'll be more than a jobber, I'll say that.

Surprised how many people are saying Wade Barrett. I'm not completely sold on the guy yet. Maybe he'll win me over. I think he does need some more "Jason Statham" in his character. But give the man time, I guess. Being paired with Chris Jericho is a good sign for him.
