Civilisation V
http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/107/1075587p1.html
Looks pretty damn good. Given I play Civ4 every day, and have played them all since Civ, I'm fucking excited about this. Probably moreso than Diablo 3. |
You spelled it wrong. :p
|
I'll probably end up buying it.

I'll be buying it.
|
I will get it, DRM pending.
|
I can't see fireaxis going with DRM, they are usually pretty decent about these things. The latest Civ4 BTS patch removes the CD requirement all together.
|
Looking good. Still break out civ4 every now and then.

Specs
Minimum: |
Giving it a miss? Come on. Integrated graphics minimum.
|
I don't have even a core i3, my 512mb x1600 gfx card should be better that those intergrated GFX, but a couple of newer games have rejected it on installation saying that x1600 isn't supported (despite it being a DX 9.0 card FFS)

They put it accross in an arrogant way, but I bought this PC in 07 and the GFX card in 05 and most games actually are fine.
Eh, who am I kidding. I'll either save for 5 months and get a new top of the line PC or just get a new GFX card. My Processor and RAM aren't all that bad and there are hacks to make my GFX card work with some games, making it seem like the hardware companies are putting pressure on games makers to artificially limit their older cards. |
I'm considering snagging this myself, but I'll need to upgrade my Graphics card. I got the rest of the specs, but my card's shite. I don't play a lot of PC titles, so it really doesn't matter normally.
My PC's still mostly a web browser and word processor, with a bit of video thrown on for fun, so.... |
Same, the processor meets the minimum spec. I'll have to get the demo and see if it locks out my GFX card.
Only reason I was considering a new PC was that the later 3D Sega arcade games are becoming emulated and playable on powerful rigs... |
We need a new Civilization Revolution for the consoles.

So fucking pumped, my order will be here in a week. Better find a torrent before then.
|
I need a new computer before I can get it.
|
Bought it now, installing. NEEDS TO HURRY UP.
|
Played a good 3 hours. Had a blast, had to save and call it a night though since got work in the morning. Def enjoying the game, like the minor changes done so far.
Was taking the game easy, just exploring different things not doing anything military really. Then the 2 countries I was in between both declared war on me out of nowhere. Did jack shit to them, had good deals going with them too. Then the main one who declared war, I fought em off for a few turns. They over took one city, so I asked for that back and with peace. Clicked what would I have to do to make this happen option. He then gave me all his gold and 2 mores cities. The city-states are kind of cool. At the difficulty level I'm at doesn't seem worth it to really try to be friendly with them. Just stay neutral basically, as easiest way to stay friends is give them gold. Though they occasionally have side missions that I'll do. Overall, really pleased with the game. Wanted to keep playing but had to stop. |
No torrent on the Pirate Bay yet? Odd.
|
Any news on when or if this will be coming to mac? Never played any Civilization games on the computer, so I may just get Civ 4 to bide my time.
