Video Game Sound Clip Challenge! (10/7)
 
Let me go ahead and say that this concept and format is completely stolen from TPWW user "thedamndest". Permission has been received to become a licensed franchisee of the Challenge! series. :y:


1) An audio clip of a video game will be posted. Could be anything from the main theme, to a level's theme or whatever else I feel like. I will try my best to make it something people would know. Could also be a remix or rock cover of a tune.
2) Do not have to correctly guess what part of the game it is, only the name of the game. May give bonus points for where it is played. (I will let you know)
3) PM (private message) me with your guess. Only guesses submitted in the fashion will be accepted.
4) Guesses will be accepted until a new Challenge is posted.
5) First person to 20 points wins.

yeah so i was planning on coming home today and starting the next challenge, however i just realized that all my music is on my desktop, which died over the weekend. i'm gonna hopefully either get an external enclosure or attempt to fix it something this weekend.

Give me some feedback. Average clip length has been 30 seconds. Is this too long, is it too short, do you want the whole song? Anything else that can be improved upon?

I think you can mix it up really. You don't have to just to music sounds, if so the 30 seconds or whatever is more than enough to get jist of it. But should also think about doing like special effects sounds, ie an easy and obvious one but just Mario going down a pipe. Something like that out of context and only for a second or maybe if it is that easy just play half of it. That could be fun too.

i've been thinking of doing a 1 second sound effect like that. got one i need to put together, then i'll try it out for the next challenge.

This is also due to the fact that I cannot find original audio for what I want. Unless you can teach me how to record audio from an emulator, dunno what to tell you.

Sound recorder and Audacity can record audio directly from your computer

Most NES emulators have the option too
