TNA Needs Time

TNA needs time to build its Monday audience . Both Nitro and Raw started out in the low 2s . TNA has really only been on national TV for 5 years and only in primetime for 3 years . Yes I know they have been around since 2002 . But seriously guys was Raw built in a day ? No Raw was getting low 2's from 95 to late 97 . With a few 3's and 4's in thier . Nitro was the same way low 2's and 3's for years . I am not saying Impact is the greatest thing out thier but its a trillion times better than Raw . All im saying is give TNA time . They will build a fanbase but as we all should know it takes time to build it .

Ok let the TNA haters crush me down !!!!!!!!!

Jakob Synn 03-17-2010 01:04 PM

I totally agree, but Hogan and Dixie are always spouting off at the mouth about it and they should just keep quiet and work on their product.

I see your point . But I see what they are doing as well . They are just promotiong thier product as the best

Londoner 03-17-2010 01:06 PM

And that's why people are saying it wasn't a good idea for them to go up against raw yet.

In all honesty it was a great idea . Maybe not so much going from 9 to 11 . but moving to Mondays was the next logical step for them . like my orginal post said it took both Raw and Nitro almost 3 years to get to 3's and 4's

roach21 03-17-2010 01:40 PM

I understand that TNA needs time, but going head to head with Raw on Mondays isn't going to work. The ratings the got for their first two live shows came sheerly from the curiosity/ excitement from seeing the return of old faces/ new surprises.

This Monday shows that their current roster without surprises and new additions to the roster every week isn't enough to compel fans to change the channel. I concede that Austin was on, but for them to get beaten that bad is ridiculous.

They need to begin earlier or move to a new night. Maybe instead of going head to head with Vince's baby they should move to Fridays and try their chances with Teddy Long and Smackdown.

Shaved Monkey 03-17-2010 01:42 PM

They don't need time. Time isn't going to polish the turd that is TNA's storylines. TNA needs to find a couple of compelling angles and actually build them properly as opposed to hotshotting the whole thing in two or three weeks. They also need to start doing the things that WWE is not. Like avoiding three minute matches and putting on actual wrestling matches that are fun to watch and not just filler between the next ridiculous segment.

As long as they continue to rely on the same ADD bullshit style booking that they have been they will go nowhere.

i agree they need time to build but TNA is not better than raw. the wrestlers in tna are better but as a company or show for that matter impact's writers bookers don't do great job on a consistent enough basis

Volare 03-17-2010 02:42 PM

TNA needs to rely on this guy....

The problem is that TNA is always in need of something. They are always one more signing away from crushing wwe, the just need to move to monday to crush wwe.

They need to quit worrying about WWE and trying to destory them and start worrying about just making their show good.

I agree with you Taker and Jakob, but a TRILLION times better, (In my best Miz voice) REALLY? WWE is a solid product... Although I amnot a PG fan, it is SOLID...

TNA is a breath of fresh air at times (When the young stars wrestle), but seeing that old shit in the ring, yeah the over 40's, is quite pathetic... Did you SEE NASH & HALL this past Monday?????

WWE at least has the gift of passing the torch from time to time... Dixie would be better off on Mondays if she had week after week of the younger talent and storylines going on... NOT The Hogan and Bischoff show... Now if they were there like they said in the beginning, just to mentor and be backstage, that would be awesome... But this hogging the airtime shit is not gonna build anything for TNA...

All that said, it IS WAY too early to tell anything... But write this down... there won't be a war going on anytime soon!

I agree with you to an extent . No doubt in anyone's mind that the young talent needs pushed . But today's casual fan has no idea who AJ Styles, Abyss,Daniel,Hernandez,EY Joe or any of the "TNA Home Grown " Talent is . So I do believe that Hogan Flair Bischoff Sting and Nash all need to be on the show somehow . Because if a casual fan is fliping channels they are more likely to stop if they se Hogan or Flair because they are household names . Now do I think these guys need to be going over the younger TNA stars HELL NO. but they need to be thier and in our faces and yes in my honest opinion Impact is clearly better than Raw . minus the Hogan Abyss magical ring shit . At least TNA is not the cena and horny variety hour

Chavo Classic 03-17-2010 05:11 PM

The simple truth is that very few people watch wrestling compared with the 1990's, and an even smaller number will watch TNA. I'm sure if they were around during the era of the original Monday Night Wars, they might do better, but for now they're a small fish in shrinking pond.

therocksays 03-17-2010 05:15 PM

tna needs a bullet to kill itself

Gertner 03-17-2010 05:18 PM

TNA is going up against an established show. Nitro was going up against Raw in its infancy that had a lot of squash matches in a time where the WWE who going through a major overhaul of its roster. The two are not comparable. Plus, I know for a fact in Canada at least that basic cable does not get you Spike TV but it does get you Raw.

Gertner 03-17-2010 05:21 PM

Plus TNA needs to start touring with Impact instead of doing their shows for free in front of their retarded smark fans. I don't know how this company can be making any money.

XIII 03-17-2010 05:22 PM

tna is alright... they need to work on making mega stars out of guys like styles, joe, morgan, and beer money... tna also kinda brings me back to the early 90's watching wcw on saturday nights.... you can say its shit but if they took it off the air or closed down shop i'm sure everyone would kinda miss it.....

SOCCER LEGS 03-17-2010 05:23 PM

TNA should have gone for more of an original ECW type show, considering how shit their production values are and how they tape every show in some crappy warehouse.

TNA is spending a shit load more money to do what ECW did, so yeah, it's a fucking retarded post.

well they're gonna have to spend a fuckload more money if they want to have a chance of matching WWE's production values, or they could have gone for an underground, bad-ass NC-17 vibe and spent less money and pulled in viewers who are disenchanted with the WWE PG thing.

but instead they want to go head to head with the WWE with less money, hardly any fans and a bunch of wrestlers who are pretty much the WWE's tablescraps. great business plan.

Gertner 03-17-2010 05:43 PM

Or they could watch UFC and see the real thing.

Lol not really. Ask UFC fans if they were WWE fans during the Attitude era. There's a reason why they left.

most people say that . But those same people critize everything TNA does and can't find anything good in it

Speaking only for myself I am harder on them because I feel they have higher standards to live up to. WWE can do whatever the hell they want to odds are people are still going to watch. TNA doesn't have that luxury. I would really love to see them knock it out of the park and become a real success story. So when I see them do a lot of the dumb shit they do it annoys me more than when WWE does it because I really don't want TNA to fail.

I keep hearing the same thing from people who critize TNA. They feel like it is a huge waste of talent and potential. Which if you listen me they think it has talent and potential.

They need to hire Hornswoggle, he's an athletic guy who would make me want to watch a wrestling company.:shifty:

screech 03-17-2010 06:55 PM

TNA needs to not worry about competing with WWE, because the simple truth is: that's not possible.

The in-ring/on-screen product needs to come first on the list of what to improve.

That's kinda like saying pabst is the greatest drink ever.

thedamndest 03-17-2010 09:31 PM

TNA needs to buy a computer so they can log on to the internet and read about what they need to do to succeed.

Xero 03-17-2010 09:36 PM

If only TPWW had an iPhone app.

Steveviscious89 03-17-2010 09:59 PM

Yes they need time definately. What's going to be crucial is whether or not management remains stable. If Hogan/Bischoff are really set on doing as well as WWE, at least in terms of ratings, then at the very least they won't have the management issues WCW had to deal with. Of course the rating this week had to be a crushing blow to the pride, but I know Bischoff doesn't sit still for losing on his account. One things that's been brought up here is the production value. Somehow, WWE's production in terms of how the arena looks and camera angles and such has always been done a certain way. Now I've noticed that TNA's production must suffer because of that blasted sound stage they're on. One has to wonder if they would change anything up if they were on the road.

exactly TNA has no business trying to take down WWE it's like David and Goliath only this time David just gets stepped on

The Mackem 03-18-2010 06:42 AM

TNA needs time but they should also take their time. Everything they have ever done has been at 100 miles per hour which is good in the sense that it has got them to where they are at now but is bad in the sense that they now think they should be seriously competing with WWE. I fear for TNA when a few months down the line they haven't made serious inroads to 'competing' with the WWE and it sets off unnecessary alarm bells to those involved with the company.

Just concentrate on continous improvement through the product.
