Why do they call it "the band"?

terrible name.....why not "Wolfpac" or "the Kliq"

Savio 03-22-2010 08:09 PM

never before have i heard the nWo referred to as the band aside from user made graphic i saw 5 years ago.

Edit: I found the graphic

Dark-Slicer Diago 03-22-2010 08:10 PM

Vince probably owns "Wolfpac" and as for "The Kliq" I'm not sure, maybe because Triple H and HBK are part of it too.

Triple A 03-22-2010 08:12 PM

I remember Nash at some point saying "the band is back together," so it is probably a reference to that.

Dark-Slicer Diago 03-22-2010 08:13 PM

Probably, I completely forgot about that.

Loose Cannon 03-22-2010 08:14 PM

yea, The Band was referanced a lot when Bret joined the nWo in 2000 with Jarrett, Hall and Nash.

Savio 03-22-2010 08:14 PM

Well what about "The Outsiders" or put a "K" at the end of "wolfpac"

Loose Cannon 03-22-2010 08:24 PM

Nash says it at the end

Loose Cannon 03-22-2010 08:24 PM

by the way, I marked out like a bitch for this

Savio 03-22-2010 08:28 PM

lol so Piper pins Goldberg and Hart wins the belt

Loose Cannon 03-22-2010 08:29 PM

yea, that was awkward

Evil Vito 03-22-2010 09:11 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Couldn't Bret basically not even wrestle at this point? Think it was after the Goldberg kick, maybe the night after.</font>

redoneja 03-22-2010 09:12 PM

They're calling it the Wolfpac now. At least that what it seems like as of last night. They even used the old Wolfpac theme, minus the lyrics (not a crappy cover but the actual instrumental). According to some news sites, WWE doesn't have a copyright on the Wolfpac name or theme, as it wasn't a part of the WCW buyout deal.

It was the night after, but Bret didn't know the extent of his concussion and post concussion injuries for about a couple weeks after the Goldberg kick.

On another note, pretty interesting to consider that because of the kick, Hart had to pull out of the upcoming PPV, leaving the world title vacant and effectively ending the nWo 2000 angle and months of main event storylines, causing Russo to pitch the idea of Tank Abbott becoming WCW Champ, which got him fired, which led to Kevin Sullivan being given booking duties, which led to Beniot, Malenko, Saturn, and Guerrero quitting WCW and the ratings for Nitro to go from pretty bad to absolutely horrible.

All from one careless Goldberg mule kick.

Wishbone 03-22-2010 09:26 PM

I hate Hall and Waltman no matter what they call themselves calling it 'the band' just makes me hate them even more if that's possible

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-22-2010 09:45 PM

Heel Bret Hart was always a badass.

What belt is Nash wearing/holding since if Bret was World champion, Hall as TV champion, and Jarrett as US champion (or swap around Hall's and Jarrett's titles) ?

Juan 03-22-2010 10:23 PM

Hall and Nash have the WCW tag titles, I believe.

Loose Cannon 03-22-2010 10:25 PM

yea, Hall and Nash were tag. Jarrett was US

Emperor Smeat 03-22-2010 10:44 PM

Oh makes sense since I thought I heard the announcer say US title and TV title which would have left just 1 belt after the World Title with Bret.

Sixx 03-22-2010 11:20 PM

This was just horrible, that whole nWo 2000.

TheAdamEvansFan 03-22-2010 11:36 PM

I remember Booker T and Hart switching the TV title back n forth alot.. classic! Man.. all those tag belts.. classic! Hardcore title.. european title.. etc.. cruiserweight title.. wow..

KayfabeMan 03-23-2010 12:21 AM

Booker and Bret had a nice series of matches.

Booker and Benoits Best of 7 Series was equally awesome.

WCW had a lot better quality matches than WWF at the time, IMO, just their booking was horrible; however, WWF had interesting storylines, without much in the ring to back up a lot of the stuff.

Basically the scenario they had been in all along; WWF winning in the entertainment department, and WCW winning in the actual in-ring product.

Droford 03-23-2010 01:32 AM

I wonder if Hogan has an issue with Jarrett doing the nWo without him..

That can't be what this is all about?

Xero 03-23-2010 01:37 AM

Perry Saturn 03-23-2010 01:41 AM

???

tjmidnight420 03-23-2010 03:02 PM

I couldn't even watch it all... quite possibly the worst booking I've ever seen... I switched to raw when it happened as well...

I HAD THIS SHIRT

Droford 03-23-2010 03:26 PM

I still have the basic nwo black and red wolfpac shirt. I wore it to a WWE show a couple years ago.

tjmidnight420 03-23-2010 03:31 PM

I liked the nWo 2000 shirts, but not the stable...

ORANGE-LOCKE 03-23-2010 07:11 PM

Figured since the Wolfpac shirt got posted, why not this one as well.... the late 90's...how i took them for granted...

Loose Cannon 03-23-2010 08:21 PM

it looks like they photoshopped WWF 1993 Lex Luger on to that Wolfpac shirt. I wouldn't put it past WCW to do that at that point though

One of the greatest lines in movie history. Pretty sure this is what Nash was referring to.
