Greatest of all time?
jobber of all time?
|
Duke "The Dumpster" Droese is a cool guy.He got a nice push in
WWF,but then thanks to some personal problems and even more so,problems within the WWF,he was let go. :nono: Doink The Clown was a good gimmick that got over big time :y: Dink The Clown was just filler, and while funny, was kinda lame :n: I wouldn't consider Soultrain/Virgil/Vincent/Curly Bill/Mr.Jones a jobber earlier in his career, but rather towards the end of his WCW time.Earlier he had some solid matches with alot of the top name stars, and I think due to him just being there to mock Dusty Rhodes, it never got him as far as it could've. Men On A Mission,Jannetty,Koko B Ware,The Repo Man,Nick Dinsmore,Duane Gill, and Tom Brandi I'll ignore....To me,it was a choice between: The Brooklyn Brawler Barry Horowitz BUT,Barry is (BY FAR) a better worker, and thus he gets my vote. |

Since when were MOM jobbers!? They held the tag team titles (i think) and got a title match at wrestlemania ten. Plus the fact that they were like John Cena for the 90s. ;)

That's why I said: "Men On A Mission,Jannetty,Koko B Ware,The Repo Man,Nick Dinsmore,Duane Gill, and Tom Brandi I'll ignore"..... Jannetty (besides being a good talent) was a Tag Team Champion & a great WWF IC Champion. He's always been underrated :( Koko B. Ware was a great athlete in his earlier days. His chemistry in "High Energy" with Owen Hart was great, and they were a cool team. He had some classic matches with Jeff Jarrett (and others) as well... Repo Man/Darsow/Smash/Blacktop Bully/Kruschev was another good talent. He did nicely for the WWF,and got Demolition & The Repo Man character over.He did well for WCW as well; building several feuds.... Nick Dinsmore is a great talent who gets misused alot :n: Duane Gill is indeed a "jobber",but not as good a worker as Barry... Tom Brandi is just...Tom Brandi :| |
Barry Horowitz

Barry Horriblewitz.
But Nick DOES job a lot. I ahven't heard him win a damn match yet. |
What about Gangrel?
Back in 2000 (half year or so after he broke away from Edge and Christain), this guy was jobbing on Heat like none other. Jacqueline defeated Gangrel (during the latter stages of his tenure in the WWE) cleanly with a DDT. Jacqueline also defeated Crash, but it was a part of Crash's gimmick (i.e. most people knew Crash would lose before the match). With Gangrel, it just.....happened...like nothing special. Jacqueline just went out there and beat him. :D |
ummm what does "jobber" mean?
|
A non-pushed talent often assigned to put over the name talents and
make them look good (like the "no name" guys you see on Velocity or Sunday Night Heat).... |
Also,just to elaborate,if I may:
A "jobber" is not a term that one appreciates being called. The proper way, should you ever run into a "jobber" and want to discuss their "jobberdom" with them,to address them is "enhancement talent" or "carpenter".... Being an "enhancement talent" is not easy work either.Often these talents are/were better workers than the guys that they were putting over, but in the promoter's opinion just lacked the look/size/some other component to be a star themselves....It's the enhancers job to make the other guy look like the best/toughest wrestler in the world. |
Jobber means Funaki
|
OMG how was Funaki not on that list

Who's the first guy you think of when you hear "jobber?" If you've been around the product for a while, it's definitely Brooklyn Brawler.
