XNA Project #2
If [we] made this as an XNA or iPhone App, would it sell? Why and why not.
Bullet features:
Yeah it's pretentious but I have reason to believe Hasney would totally buy this, and he is the measuring stick of the average gaming consumer. Gonna go eat now. |
I'm 100% certain it would sell, and a lot. Just for the novelty.
Casual games are where it's at. |
They've made games that are pretty much glorified Rock Paper Scissors before. I don't remember what it was called but the "battle system" was basically Rock Paper Scissors.
|
A lot of games are rock paper scissor in their simplest form. Especially RPGs.

I'd say nobody's stupid enough to buy Kalyx's idea, but he mentioned it being an app. Clearly, if you bought an iphone, you really are stupid enough to pay for a digital RPS title. |
Really though...
Just about every game out there uses an RPS type system. |
You should add some kind of Gamer Profile to include your win/loss record, most selected RPS token, and maybe the average time it takes you to make a decision. Something else that gives someone a reason not just to play with their hands.
|
Anything would sell well on iPhone Apps, price probably would be the key though since 99 cents to $4.99 seems to be the sweet spot for impulse buying.
A fart button was in the top downloads/sales for the iPhone store for a while. |

Someone from Japan would obviously hold #1 by an insane margin. |

For the gloves part, you can make it so that you leave the app running while walking around. If you pass anyone who has theirs on you collect random things. Gloves, rings, etc. And it's based on the other's and your overall score.
Some of these (really rare ones) could be one-off items. Like automatic wins. It'd be kind of like Pokemon! |

Your entire life is based off an RPS system |

The game would sell for 15$. Apps are attractive for no reason and bullshit worse than this idea banked. One of the early successes of the XNA store was essentially a vibrating app.
TPWW, let's bank. |
Get on it. Tell me how I can help.
|
Just say you're down and I will put your fucking name in the credits.
|
I am down.

Special Thanks

I want halp
|
As long as
RB - Rock RT - Scissors LT - Paper LB - Random |
There should be a PC version that allows mods and user-hosted servers.
Also, an MMORPS. |

Man I can't even begin to figure that shit out. All I know is it lists the variants and somewhere in there is what beats what

$15 seems kind of expensive for this. Keep in mind that part of the allure of apps is that they can be impulse buys because they seem like a really cool idea at the time for only a few clicks. $15 seems like enough to drive away the impulse/boredom gaming market.
|
Did I mention this was in HD? Cause it fucking is.
|
No way, they should be the triggers. Makes it feel more interactive
|
Mapable buttons. Issue solved.
|
Default setting is the triggers though. Or else I'm outta here
|
I'll sack your ass. No credit spot for you then.
|
Good!
Don't want my name soiled by this SHIT project |
I'm sorry for that otuburst. I did not mean it.
