xXx: The Return of Xander Cage 2010

Although the character of Xander Cage was apparently killed off in the sequel to explain his absence, the character apparently survived as Vin Diesel has announced that he will be returning as Xander Cage in a second sequel, entitled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, which is slated for release in mid-2010. Although as yet the script is to be completed, Diesel has agreed to return and so has the director of xXx, Rob Cohen. Diesel has said that the style and music will also be similar to that of the original film, more of what the fans want, with an emphasis on extreme stunts and with a heavy metal soundtrack. Joe Roth is in talks to produce. According to Cohen, he has also approached Sony, and "now we're writing a script with the guys who wrote Terminator 3 & Terminator Salvation. So we'll do another Xander Cage XX. We'll bring it up to speed a bit and bring back the extreme sports guy who's drafted to be a spy."

his career must be in the pooper.

G 04-04-2010 12:42 AM

so they're still working on the script, yet it's due for a mid-2010 release :wtf:

Lock Jaw 04-04-2010 12:54 AM

Well, the script should be done by Tuesday.

El Fangel 04-04-2010 01:04 AM

I liked the first one a little, second one was shit.

Fignuts 04-04-2010 01:10 AM

Yeah I think they mean mid-2011.

El Vaquero de Infierno 04-04-2010 04:26 AM

Isn't he supposed to be doing another Riddick film?

Jura 04-04-2010 08:00 AM

When is that Hannibal movie going to come out anyways? I think he needs to be consistent first of all. He has star power and charisma but he's always canceling or delaying movies to do other movies and then sometimes even those movies take a while to release.

I regret seeing this thread and having the ambiguous death of Xander Cage spoiled for me.

Riddick > Xander Cage

Rammsteinmad 04-04-2010 10:14 AM

Vin Diesel films are all the same.

Jon Kano 04-04-2010 10:18 AM

Yeah I remember thinking that when I saw the detritus that was Fast & Furious, and then the 'pretty good' Pitch Black.

NOT.

Zeeboe 04-04-2010 10:53 AM

I like Vin Diesel, but he was prety much a flavor of the month. I thought he was going to be the next Arnold or Stallone, but instead he's like me.....he's stuck in 2001.

Jura 04-04-2010 10:56 AM

The whole Riddick thing reminds me of the Matrix. Pitch Black was a unique movie and had it's own atmosphere. Was like a horror alien movie and the first Matrix was like some futuristic trippy shit. Then the sequels felt different. Chronicles of Riddick was not bad though.

I liked him in Boiler Room and A Man Apart.

bigdaddysuperfreak 04-04-2010 11:18 AM

I know I might get flamed for this, but I like him in "The Pacifier". My kids and I watch it all the time.

Reavant 04-04-2010 02:31 PM

a man apart was a good movie

Fignuts 04-04-2010 03:01 PM

Pitch black is still the best thing he's ever done imo. Too bad riddick kind of ruined the character and its mystique.

There was a solid two months when everyone in my high school wanted to be Vin Diesel after The Fast and the Furious came out. Guys who had never changed their own oil were suddenly carrying around car magazines and talking about whose car could beat whose off the line.

You ever seen Find Me Guilty?

Jura 04-04-2010 06:17 PM

Even though he wore a white t-shirt most of the time in both movies, The Fast and The Furious and The Pacifier were pretty different I'd say.
