TNA may be dipping into the 90s well again as there has been much talk of starting a faction consisting of former ECW wrestlers.
ECW alumni presently on the roster include Rob Van Dam, Brother Ray, Brother Devon, Rhino, Raven, Dr. Stevie and Taz. Also, the former Spike Dudley worked an episode of iMPACT! a few weeks ago not to mention that Tommy Dreamer has been rumored to join the promotion as an on-air performer.

Fantastic. :|

Xero 04-07-2010 04:51 PM

lol ECW under Bischoff.

Jeritron 04-07-2010 04:52 PM

The Extreme Invaders, or some shit like that

Xero 04-07-2010 04:53 PM

They should just start a stable called "The 90s".

It'd be bigger than the nWo. In terms of ratio of 90s guys to TNA guys.

AngryMidjit 04-07-2010 04:53 PM

Hardcore Hak is returning!

Jeritron 04-07-2010 04:55 PM

Not a single one of them is worth airtime at this point, aside from RVD and maybe the Dudleys.

Bringing in Dreamer is alright. I was good with him on WWE tv up until he left, so I can't really say he has no business on tv anymore. It's just that in that capacity he was under the banner of the ECW brand name, and being pushed as a likeable veteran who still had fight left in him.

I expect them to debut him as if he were The Rock

kareru 04-07-2010 04:55 PM

i remember that popular faction in the 90's that consisted of old ecw alumni

Lock Jaw 04-07-2010 04:56 PM

"The Gang"

Jeritron 04-07-2010 04:58 PM

Seems like TNA debuts absolutely everyone that comes into the company with the same level of importance.

For example, Jeff Hardy and RVD are huge signings. Val Venis, Orlando Jordan, Shannon Moore and other examples aren't.
Yet they all seem to get a similar reaction to their entrance. It's like they're just so happy to be signing anyone that they put it out there as a smark event, and don't create a scale of importance.

The same goes for Nigel debuting in TNA as if it were just as important as Jeff Hardy showing up

Droford 04-07-2010 05:00 PM

I said a while ago that TNA had more ECW alumnus than ECW the Brand probably ever had after the first 6 months.

Xero 04-07-2010 05:01 PM

lol if they do this and they get ECW chants outshining the TNA chants.

Droford 04-07-2010 05:03 PM

Wonder if they can get "Marcus Cor Von" and Kevin Thorn.

AngryMidjit 04-07-2010 05:04 PM

nice post count droford, 4444

Xero 04-07-2010 05:04 PM

Colin Delaney vs Mikey Whipwreck.

AngryMidjit 04-07-2010 05:05 PM

i guess in a way kurt angle is an ecw alumnus too....

Xero 04-07-2010 05:06 PM

Instead of getting Heyman, they could have a guy with a ball cap and pony tail be shot from the back in an office discussing plans with the ECW alums.

Well since Cor Von was from TNA in the first place, Im pretty sure he would just be TNAs Monty Brown

Lock Jaw 04-07-2010 05:30 PM

That was before he went to WWE, though. Now that he has been in WWE, if he goes to TNA, he has to get a rip-off of his WWE name.

Markus Corvin.

Volare 04-07-2010 05:53 PM

EWCW

311 04-07-2010 05:57 PM

"The Extremers"

Fignuts 04-07-2010 05:59 PM

If it brings in Paul Heyman then I'm all for it.

If anything though, it will probably make him stay further away.

Kane Knight 04-07-2010 06:02 PM

And then they all join punk's stable.

Yeah, I don't think Heyman is that stupid.

Heyman won't be going to TNA for a looooooong time, if ever. Right now, he doesn't need wrestling. And I'm sure he would never work under Bischoff and Hogan.

CM Punk should join the SeS

VSG 04-07-2010 07:12 PM

They just need to get the Iron Sheikh back!

Schlomey 04-07-2010 07:17 PM

TNA is the Dung Beetle to WWE's shit.

In response to iMPACT’s lackluster ratings, discussion of bringing Jim Ross and Paul Heyman to TNA has heated up amongst company officials, reports this week’s issue of the Pro Wrestling Torch.

Ross remains under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment through the 20th or so and has indicated on his official website that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him in WWE.

Heyman is contractually free, but hasn’t shown much interesting in joining TNA when friends have asked him about joining the company in the past. However, they feel he would accept a position with the company if he was given power beyond appearing as a character and writing shows.

Schlomey 04-07-2010 09:31 PM

If JR jumps ship I don't know what I'd do. JR and WWE go together like America and apple pie. Don't be a doucher jr.

We're supposed to, yes.

The Show Off 04-07-2010 10:27 PM

Heyman should only go to TNA if he gets complete creative control.

If Heyman was booking that show, and JR was calling it, chances are I would be quite inclined to watch every week. The roster is there. The problems are with the writing and the promotion of events. Heyman and JR lend infinite amounts of cred to each respectively
