Let's do another "A*holes of the ring" thread
 

It's been alittle while since we have talked about who is either dificult to work with backstage or sloppy in the ring, lets throw some names out there. Besides the obvious ones, I have reciently heard that Ahmed Johnson, The Jackyl/ Cyrus and Johnny the Bull (that's killer spelled backwards) were all a*holes. Ahmed allegedly walked out of the WWE because he didnt want to put people over and durring his short stay in WCW he made demands even though he kept putting on weight. I've read that Johnny kept asking for more money and had a "bad attitude" durring his time in TNA and AAA. Cyrus is one that I reciently heard was alot like JBL backstage. He had a bullying personality alot like JBL. Who are some other names that you have heard were like that in wrestling?

I'm actually not that familiar with Cyrus. I remember him being tall, and being touted as a great commentator, but he didn't really seem big enough to get away with being a complete cunt in the world of professional wrestling.

Hardcore Holly and Bubba Ray Dudley immediately sprang to mind. Holly I used to be a mark for, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for (dude almost died and came back to wrestling), and Bubba is a really good promo and has been apart of some great matches -- but the two are apparently REALLY hard to work with. Conversely, apparently D-Von is a sweetheart.

I read somewhere that Jesse & Festus were assholes when they met a WWE fan somewhere. Not sure if it's true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Jesse has the pedigree to have arrogance, and Gallows, despite being really good at playing a character, reminds me of some guy I know -- and that dude is a complete cunt.

obviously new jack, i would constitute stabbing other wrestlers multiple times and trying to murder them by purposely throwing them the wrong way on a massive 60ft bump or legit kicking shit out of a 70 year old wrestler just because he wouldn't sell, quite the asshole maneuver.

I met the Dudleys at a signing back in 2004, and whilst Bubba came across as a complete asshole who couldn't give a fuck, D-Von came across as a very caring, legit human being. He seemed really happy to be there and when he thanked me for coming (y'know, after the signing etc as you do), he sounded so geniune and happy to have fans etc. Really nice guy.

Just thought I'd add that to justify what you said.

I know a guy who's trained with the Dudleys at their camp. From what he said, Bubba can be either cool or a dick, depending on the day. He can be a complete hard ass, then take the boys out to the bar and pay for a few hundred dollars worth of beer and hot wings. So I don't know about him as far as fan interaction, but he can have his giving side too.

But again, he did mention D-Von is always a great guy.

I've witnessed a bit of both Bubba Rays.

1. Him singing "Take me Home Tonight" while swiping a poorly placed bottle of Jager was awesome.

2. An hour later, Indy guy was being a disrespectful prick, so Bubba approached him on the street with Devon and their friends. I seriously thought the dude was gonna shit himself as Bubba told him off. He was definitely crying. That was kind of prickish.

At least Bubba only told him off, and didn't try to murder the guy. New Jack is legit psychotic.

New Jack isn't an asshole of the ring, he's just deplorable, and a really sorry excuse for a human being.

I guess it's debateable but would somebody who was extremely stiff like Vader or Bam Bamm be considered in this category? I watch some of Vader's matches and the way he would throw guys over the top rope, chokeslam guys even durring his mid 90's WWE run looked painful for the opponent. I read somewhere that Bam Bamm refused to put over guys in his late WCW run. I've also read that he got sloppy and stiff durring that time too.

I agree if Gypsy Joe didn't want the shit beat out of him he should of sold the moves.

Have had some dealings with Cyrus, not an asshole at all that I've seen.

Also easily one of the most underrated commentators/performers in the history of the business.

Yeah -- that totally warrants him having everything in the building thrown at him, as well as the endangered welfares of the audience members themselves.

defiantly not bam bam, the guy saved 3 children from a burning house and suffered major burns in the process, that deserves major respect.

If I was a legit pro wrestler and I was forced into wrestling New Jack, I'd have a set of brass knucks just in case, so I could knock him the fuck out if he got too unruly. Or I'd kick him in the nuts and bail.

Vader came from a time when stiff was acceptable, plus he had a lot exposure in Japan where that is how it is. Also I have heard only good things about him as a person.

Bam Bam, well he probably had some ego problems being in the ME at WM 10, and then nothing happened afterwards except ECW, so I'd say you could expect a little attitude out of him.

Holly tried to stiff and deadweight Brock...yeah that turned out great for him.

While in ECW, D-von lived right up the block from me in NY. The first time I met him, he was just hanging out outside on his balcony of his apartment on the 2nd floor. And my friend new I watched and new D-Von, so he mentioned I was wreslting and he started having a conversaiton with me. very nice guy. I was like 11 or 12 at the time

I would never put a man like Bam Bam in the same category as Holly or New Jack, then again I dont think even Holly belongs in the same category as New Jack. Like I said, when he came back near the end of WCW I had heard that he was very dificult to work with backstage. I also heard that there were acouple of storyline that they were gonna use to help some of the younger guys over but he refused to lose. I've heard nothing but great things about him out of the ring though

I remember watching 101 Reasons Not to Be a Pro Wrestler and being shocked at how cool New Jack came off considering all the stories. Didn't seem like a dick at all. Seemed like a hardcore alcoholic but that's about it.
