Gene Kiniski passes away

Slam! Wrestling in Canada is reporting that former NWA World champion Gene Kiniski has passed away, at the age of 81, following a long battle with cancer.

Our deepest condolences to Kiniski's family, friends and fans during this sad time.

:( RIP Gene. You had a good one.

I read it as Gene Snitsky at first.

Another great legend gone. RIP Gene

Obviously no real experience with him, but he was certainly one of the greats of the business. R.I.P.

I remember seeing Gene Kiniski back in 1993 at WCW Slamboree in Atlanta. He was a nice guy, despite being a heel. He managed Dory Funk, Jr. that night.

Another big loss for the business in 2010.

R.I.P. and sorry to see him go in such a way.

He had a long life and will be rembered

He had mentioned in an interview that obviously everyone knows they're going, but no one wants to die from cancer.

I keep reading it as Gene Snitsky.
