Biggest Busts in Wrestling

Who are some guys that had a shot to be great in the major federations (WCW, WWF/E) but screwed it up and ended up released or in midcard hell because they were lazy, jerks, druggies, heatseekers etc.

Mr. Kennedy is the biggest bust of the last decade. The guy was going to be revealed as Vince McMahon's son wasn't he? Guaranteed main eventer/title reigns.

From Wikipedia:

In 1987, Duggan and the Iron Sheik (Khosrow Vasiri) were pulled over by New Jersey police after a WWF event, suspecting Duggan of driving under the influence. After a search of the vehicle and the persons, police discovered that Duggan was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol, while Vasiri was high on cocaine. Small amounts of cocaine were also found in the vehicle. Duggan received a conditional release while Vasiri was placed on probation for a year. The scandal that erupted after two in-ring enemies were found drinking and doing drugs together led to the end of the angle, the Sheik's release, and Duggan's temporary departure from WWF. Duggan soon returned to wrestling.

Billy Gunn sucked but WWE gave him a huge push in 1999 with the KOTR win and a Summerslam program with The Rock, but he flopped.

I always thought Shelton Benjamin would have eventually become a main eventer.

To be fair, Shamrock had an immense MMA career and hence WWE used him pretty well. TNA on the other hand...

I like the top comment on that video about Nathan Jones "This dude had it all. He had agility (for a big man) he had the requisite strength, but most importantly he had CHARISMA."

Yeah, but he couldnt wrestle..what good is all that other stuff if you can't wrestle worth a lick?

tazz in wwe

FourFifty 04-27-2010 05:37 PM

Buff Bagwell in WWE.
From my understanding his agent/mom was quite upset when she learned that another superstar had a limo promised in his contract. When she complained about it they let him go. He could have been huge (pre-Eddie's death so the wellness policy wouldn't be an issue) but his momma screwed it up.

He has had an AWESOME Career, but I agree with TLH... His stint in WWE was not what we all had hoped due to injuries...

Scott Hall if not for his substance abuse would have been WWE and/or WCW champion I have no doubt about it although he was somewhat lucky to get the push he got in a way.
