Where would you place Sting?
 

Of this group: Hogan, Flair, Taker, HBK, Rock, Austin, Bret; who is Sting better than as a wrestler overall including technical skills, work rate, charisma, etc. I'm trying to find out where Sting would have ended up in the fans eyes had he gone to WWE.

Well, of that list I would order best to worst like this...

Sting is a great wrestler, but he hasn't adapted is character latley and the Crow look is old. I think he would be better off in the scheme of things to have a strong run in WWE for a year or so, and then call it quits.

Sting is unlike any of the other talents on that list, personally and also in character. Even thought it might have meant more money or fame, Sting was not going to work for WWF/E. If he was going to do it, the best time would have been when the buyout happened, but now it's too late. We've heard straight from the horses mouth that he had a lot of doubts about what the WWF was doing with the WCW guys and the whole invasion angle. He didn't want to be a part of that, and I doubt he would ever do it now. I think Mr. Borden is quite content to remain in TNA and fight the good fight until he decides to hang it up.

Honestly, second last. Only above Hogan.

I think Sting is better then Hogan, The Rock and yes even Austin. But he's been in the biz for a long time and falls amoung the highly respected such as HBK, Taker, and The Hitman, and the slowly losing last bit of credibility Flair.

For everything he has done, and how long he's been around. I still have times when I talk to people wrestling fans or not, and they have no idea who the hell Sting is. The wrestling fans finally remember who he is when I bring up the whole Crow act, but still they go "oh him." The older fans who recall surfer Sting just cast him off like he's nothing. I always think it says something when non wrestling fans know who a wrestler is.

Maybe I didn't see enough old stuff of him but he's at the bottom of the list. The whole hanging in the rafters thing feuding with the NWO was awesome, but then he got in the ring, and damn, he is really not a great wrestler. He's above average for sure, but even the old stuff I've seen, I've just never been sold on his in ring work and whenever he opens his mouth I want to mute the tv.
