Worst Main Event Matches/ Pairings Ever

Lawrence Taylor headlined Wrestlemania!? (he was arrrested for allegedly giving a 15 year old girl the business in a hotel today). I know it was against BamBam and BamBam could work but I'd be pissed if I was a fan and that was the last match. Can anyone whose seen it tell me if the match was any good?

What are some other matches that headlined a major PPV that had no business closing the show?

Anybody Thrilla 05-06-2010 01:00 PM

You've never seen Wrestlemania 11?

Anybody Thrilla 05-06-2010 01:01 PM

BTW, it wasn't the WORST match ever, but the last time I saw it, I was eleven years old.

Swiss Ultimate 05-06-2010 01:05 PM

Who cares, it was a last man standing match and it was a clever and interesting way to end the show, it was different plus the match was pretty good as was their Summerslam and Wrestlemania matches.

Cuse8 05-06-2010 02:09 PM

not a main event..but worst pairings ever...

Hornswaggle vs.........

Cena could have shoved a flamingo up Batista's ass and it would have been a clever and interesting way to end the show. The match was OK, and my only wish is that they both would have torn muscles and broken bones like they did in their summerslam match.

Mr. Pierre 05-06-2010 02:36 PM

They were trying to extend the program without having Batista look weak at all. If Cena makes Batista tap out in March, then lay him out for a 10 count in April, (from a fan's perspective) how should they have any right to believe that Batista can beat Cena in May?

While I understand what they were doing, that shit has no business in the main event or around a championship feud.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-06-2010 04:29 PM

Hogan and Zeus

I understand that they could have gone a different route to make Bats looks strong, but I didn't mind it.

Word. God awful match.

Tazz Dan 05-07-2010 03:31 AM

Ok, so not a match. But Nowinski and Hardy's promo at Survivor Series 200_? (Forgive me, mental blank) was pretty fucking poor.

Evolution 05-07-2010 03:37 PM

2002. It was only there to bring in Scott Steiner.

nelioneil 05-07-2010 04:18 PM

Technically not main events - but were for the WWE heavyweight title at PPV:

Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly - Royal Rumble 2004

Big Bossman vs Big Show - Armageddon 1999

XCaliber 05-07-2010 06:33 PM

Any main event involving Dude Love.

Outsider 05-07-2010 06:37 PM

Undertaker and Kane vs Kronik

Too many big men who rely on dominating their opponents. None of them bad wrestlers, but as a match it just did not work.

Tb1 05-07-2010 06:40 PM

Undertaker/Hogan from Judgment Day '02. Horrendous.

Either you have never seen Dude Love vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at Over The Edge 1998, or you are some sort of idiot.

I get that. It doesn't mean it wasn't shit. Worst promo segment of all time.

Fox 05-07-2010 06:47 PM

Triple H vs. Hulk Hogan - WWE Championship (Backlash 2002)

John Cena vs. The Great Khali - WWE Championship (Judgment Day, One Night Stand)

Kevin Nash vs. Hulk Hogan (had several matches in 1999, including a particularly horrible match at Road Wild that year)

Scott Steiner vs. Triple H (as mentioned)

Vince McMahon vs. Triple H - WWF Title (Armageddon 99)

Goldberg vs. Lesnar (WM 20)

Yes I have and it was an hugely overhyped POS match if I ever saw one.

OWEN ULLRICH 05-07-2010 10:57 PM

Bret Hart vs Mr McMahon WM 26

Triple H vs Randy Orton WM 25

Blasphemy. How old were you when that match happened? 8? Do not hate on the Dudester.

BollywoodSingh 05-07-2010 11:20 PM

Triple H vs. Jericho at WrestleMania 18 is up there for me. Worst built main event in WM history IMO. The match had no heat at all and a quarter of the audience left before it.

I was scared of Zeus back in the day. I was a young kid plus huge Hogan mark like most others.

A lot older than that if it had been against Mankind or Cactus Jack it would have been so much better.

TannerLittleton 05-09-2010 01:06 AM

Triple H vs. Stenier.
