The NXT Pro's Poll

For those of you who watch NXT (or at least follow it), who do you think will be 'eliminated' this week? Who do you think SHOULD be eliminated? And which rookies have impressed you the most and least?

I'm thinking that Michael Tarver will be eliminated as it is the obvious choice, but they could throw a curveball.

My rankings would be:

1. Wade Barrett - IMO, the best on the show
2. Daniel Bryan - Technically the best
3. Heath Slater - one step behind Bryan
4. Skip Sheffield - surprisingly entertaining
5. Darren Young - didn't like him at first, but I like him better than the remainder
6. Justin Gabriel - just don't get him, great in the ring, but lacking everywhere else
7. Michael Tarver - The 'gimmick' of not competing in challenges is hurting him
8. David Otunga - Decent charisma, but absolute shit in the ring pretty much a John Cena 2.0

screech 05-10-2010 01:17 PM

I see Sheffield being eliminated. I have been unimpressed with the little I've seen of him. To me, he screams jobber.

I thought Tarver until last week, but I feel like they are going to run with this "I just wanna wrestle" thing he has going.

XCaliber 05-10-2010 01:30 PM

Think if anyone should be eliminated it's Skip Sheffield he has to be my least favorite and it's mostly due to his lame ass gimmick. Honestly I don't wanna see Tarver go either he's better on the mic than most of the other guys in this group. Have to give my props to Wade Barrett though this guy is the complete package to me and is the most deserving of winning this competition.

1. Barett
2. Slater
3. Bryan
4. Otunga
5. Gabriel
6. Tarver
7. Young
8. Sheffield

Innovator 05-10-2010 01:32 PM

Please be Heath Slater

Ultra Mantis 05-10-2010 01:56 PM

It seems a little obvious to get rid of Tarver, they've got Carlito back with Primo so obviously they're not going to carry on the Superstars losing streak angle. If it's not Tarver I would say Sheffield is going.

My own take:

1. Wade Barrett - He's got all the tools
2. Daniel Bryan - Consistantly has the best matches of all the rookies, even when he's getting squashed in two minutes
3. Darren Young - Not as bad as I thought he would be
4. Justin Gabriel - Right now he's a less interesting Evan Bourne, and Evan Bourne is not that interesting. That weird spaceman costume he had in his first appearance is the most memorable thing about him so far.
5. Michael Tarver - He's not the worst, though they have definately booked him to be.
6. David Otunga - Without a doubt the worst wrestler on NXT, but has good charisma so he's somewhat entertaining.
7. Heath Slater - Average at pretty much everything except being annoying.
8. Skip Sheffield - Im not even sure what he is.

this is my dream as this idiot bugs the ever living shit out of me.. But his is good in the ring...

Saying that, Sheffield will probably go dueto lacking a bit in every angle... For some reason they are pushing the Tarver angle, although he gets my vote to go...
Gabriel is Bourne 2.0 and I agree with Fives above... Otunga is shit in the ring and looks like Cena 2.0 in the ring...

The Jayman 05-10-2010 02:23 PM

I'm going with Sheffield for reasons stated above

BillyBonez 05-10-2010 02:30 PM

I would pull a swerve and eliminate Daniel Bryan first only to have Bryan randomly haunt every NXT show, like attacking stars randomly backstage even attacking people on RAW and announcer can say "a black cloud hangs over the WWE" and that could be Bryan's nick name when he debuts in the WWE officially, "The Black Cloud" Daniel Bryan. I think that because he is so vanilla, he can do a gothic/emo gimmick really well lol

Wasn't that what Matt Hardy was supposed to be?

I'm still waiting for him to scream "I've got 'til 5 referee!"

Innovator 05-10-2010 02:52 PM

I'm waiting for the elbows

Evil Vito 05-10-2010 02:58 PM

I kinda think they'll go the obvious route with Tarver getting eliminated. Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan will have fallen to #7.

Yeah I think I got the idea for Black Cloud from Matt, but its not like he got that gimmick, he is still the same fat boring Matt Hardy who will never be as good as his bro. Ever. Now u gave me an idea, instead they can call Daniel Bryan, "The Fallen Dragon" and he can be the "Poison of the WWE".
(Not like NWO was lol)

Nicky Fives 05-10-2010 03:18 PM

I don't understand all the Slater haters, I actually like him..... I picture him as being a second tier Edge or Christian, but I could be wrong

Skippord 05-10-2010 03:49 PM

I hate Slater/Sheffield/Otunga

Innovator 05-10-2010 04:15 PM

Otunga came in strong, but he's getting outcharismad by Daniel Bryan Danielson

jerichoholicninja 05-10-2010 04:28 PM

I thought Otunga started strong but the more they focused on him the more his weaknesses came out and the less of a future I think he has. Tarver or Sheffield will be the first eliminated.

Skippord 05-10-2010 04:32 PM

I think Otunga's hair just enrages me

parkmania 05-10-2010 05:09 PM

Given what happened to Matt Hardy on the last ep of Smackdown, and the fact that he has the same moveset as Evan Bourne, I'm calling for a shocker and Justin Gabriel goes bye-bye.

He has immunity this week.

parkmania 05-10-2010 05:18 PM

Crap, I forgot about that.

DAMN iNATOR 05-10-2010 05:25 PM

I'd like to see Sheffield gone, however I see Tarver being eliminated first. When's the first elimination? This week? Haven't really been keeping track all that much with NXT lately.

VSG 05-10-2010 06:15 PM

Ay, its this week. Hence the thread.

.44 Magdalene 05-10-2010 06:15 PM

Dammit, I love Sheffield. D:

What Would Kevin Do? 05-10-2010 06:47 PM

I could see them eliminating Tarver, but having him stick around, attacking people, etc.

Also, with Primo and Carlito teaming up, it looks like Carlito already has something else to do.

thedamndest 05-10-2010 06:48 PM

Sheffield is okay. His gimmick sucks, but he's pretty charismatic and seems to want it more than a lot of guys even on the active roster. Ring-wise he is okay, but he's on NXT with a pack of guys who are better than okay.

Actually with the Colon's coming back together, I feel its the end of the road for Tarver.

Wishbone 05-10-2010 07:48 PM

Tarver should and probably will be eliminated as for the most impressive rookie I gotta say it's a tie between Bryan and Wade

Beth Phoenix Fan 05-10-2010 07:57 PM

i don't see heath slater being eliminated because he beat chris jericho

The Show Off 05-10-2010 08:59 PM

1. Daniel Bryan
2. Wade Barrett
3. Skip Sheffield
4. Heath Slater
5. Michael Tarver
6. Justin Gabriel
7. David Otunga
8. Darren Young

That's how I'd rank them on what I think they have to offer. However Daniel Bryan is better then the other seven rookies combined. Perhaps that's the mark in me but I've seen literally dozens of great matches out of Danielson, so I'm justified in saying at this moment he is far better than all the other rookies by a country mile.

VSG 05-10-2010 09:16 PM

I would love to know what you think Tarver has to offer more than Otunga in the WWE.

thedamndest 05-10-2010 09:19 PM

Aside from his gimmick and being married to Jennifer Hudson (or is that the gimmick) Otunga is still pretty green. He's better off than Tarver in the WWE world because I honestly still have no idea what Michael Tarver is capable of at this point, good or bad.

What Would Kevin Do? 05-10-2010 11:42 PM

I really want to know what the common mark thinks of Daniel Bryan. Obviously he's getting a ton of love from people who knew him in ROH, but for the people that are just seeing him on NXT, are they digging him?

jerichoholicninja 05-11-2010 12:07 AM

I've only seen Bryan on NXT and I'm impressed. Not drooling at the thought of him but impressed. He seems like a pretty well-rounded wrestler. His match against Jericho was one of the best I've seen in a while. As for his charisma, he's not oozing it but he at least seems confident which is more than I can say for most of the NXT guys and most of the pros.

There's just some indescribable quality about him that really makes me not want to see him in any capacity. I think the best way I can explain it is with the following image.

What Would Kevin Do? 05-11-2010 07:28 PM

I agree, there has been nothing about Slater I've liked. His voice annoys me too. Even outside of all the "not liking" though, there's something about him that just makes me not want to see him on TV, ever.

Maybe he's just trying too hard. I feel like he should have an aura sort of like the Dudebusters do. He's supposed to be the one man rock band, but he seems to be trying way to hard to be liked.

Schlomey 05-11-2010 09:05 PM

i just read the NXT spoilers. Since I don't know how to spoil tag here I'm not going to go into what I read....Just know that I am all like..WTF over here.

Triple Naitch 05-11-2010 09:09 PM

Don't understand all the hate for Otunga. He has the least amount of in-ring experience out of all of them and can already talk. His skills will improve with time.

Schlomey 05-11-2010 09:11 PM

I like Wade Barrett & Skip Sheffield personally.

My immediate guess is this means the guy that got eliminated is someone we weren't expecting.

Don't spoil it, obviously, but I'm going to take a stab at it being Wade Barrett. I'm fairly certain he started off at like 5-0 but is now down to 5-4 and he didn't even try last week's challenge. Plus Jericho annoys all the other Pros. So I dunno, we'll see.

Schlomey 05-11-2010 09:19 PM

don't ruin it like I did. Just tune in and watch.
