– Jim Ross, a play-by-play commentator for WWE since 1993, has been removed from the company website’s SmackDown! roster page. While his talent contract with WWE has expired, he remains employed to the organization in a talent relations capacity. “My WWE ‘talent contract’ has ended after a 17+ year run with the company,” Ross wrote in a recent blog. “Obviously, I would have liked to have had the ability to do a ‘farewell broadcast’ but that opportunity never occurred.”

I know some of you didn't like Jim Ros... Morons... But I for sure will miss him in the WWE... And I think a farewell broadcast would've been the least they could've done for J.R.... But it is Vince & Co....

Its suprising that he never got to do a Farewell broadcast, suppose its a possibility in the future but if not it just shows the "chew you up, spit you out" nature of WWE.

Did anyone seriously not like JR pre-2003?

Or it could be the "JR is a bitch" nature of Jim Ross. I mean, the guy most certainly went through much of the recent years of his career kicking and screaming.

I have always liked JR. I have always been a fan of his abilities. I admit I am very surprised with how WWE has treated him. I have always seen JR as a top player in the business. To see him just swept to the side by WWE is quite surprising. I really hope he finds better opportunities elsewhere.

His quality of announcing went down quite a bit. At least I think that's when people started getting a little tired of him. I remember him making lots of mistakes in '04 and '05 but I still always :heart: JR

He was good again in 2008 IMO

2003 was around the time when JR really started phoning it in every Monday. Although, I liked JR during his last run SD, he clearly was not the same guy anymore.
