I really liked the book. Guy wrote one other book that I also enjoyed called "Armor" about soldiers in mechanized suits fighting insect-like aliens. Pretty badass stuff.

The movie however, fucking sucked. Couldn't make it through the first 10 minutes. John Carpenter's movie has almost nothing in common with the book.

It's worth a read, I picked it up for two bucks. Also, only because I enjoyed Armor.
