Today would've been Chris Benoit's 43rd B'Day...post your favorite pics and vids or whatever about him in here. :y:

He killed his wife and kid so I'm gonna go ahead and say no.

CSL 05-21-2010 06:14 AM

Scratch that, this is my favourite Benoit video, 1:04 onwards:

Fair enough.

Never heard of him.

Skippord 05-21-2010 06:19 AM

My favorite Chris Benoit moment was when he brutally strangled his 7 year old son

Juan 05-21-2010 06:21 AM

This should be good...

I appreciate what you're doing, but you had to have known what was going to happen here

St. Jimmy 05-21-2010 07:30 AM

I can say that I've moved on from the things he did at the end of his life and can just appreciate the entertainment that he provided for years, and the skill and dedication he brought to the ring. You're adults here, move on.

There is a time and a place for everything. I can seperate what he wound up 'becoming' from appreciating his undoubted talent and his accomplishments. I would happily discuss his ability on a level forum with other performers. I'm just not about to 'celebrate' these things on his birthday in some kind of act of memorial.

who dat

Evil Vito 05-21-2010 09:54 AM

Besides being batshit crazy, I do wonder how much longer he would have continued wrestling. He was 40 when he offed himself. A lot of guys don't last too far past 40, and when they do their in-ring quality tends to decline in a big way...but he kept himself in ridiculous condition so I dunno.

Schlomey 05-21-2010 10:11 AM

so my thread about ALL past wrestlers got closed but this is acceptable? BULLSHIT.

on topic:

I had a back and forth liking for Chris. Growing up, I thought he was boring and had little character, as I got older and he joined the 4 Horsemen I really began understanding his psychology in the ring & enjoyed watching him suplex and headbutt.

In WWE:

I started back at square one with Benoit in WWE. At the time the WWE was character driven. Guys like Rikishi, Taker, Scotty & The Worm, Kane ect..... I didn't expect Benoit to flower in such an environment.

I quit watching wrestling for a few years..Sadly those were the years at his WWE peak where he won the title.

When I returned to the sport Benoit was going back and forth trading between RAW & Smackdown & always chasing the mid card titles. Around WM23. The last 2-3 years of his life/career I really enjoyed his work although he had little direction.

So basically, I don't hold him in as high regard as most of you do but I do have fond memories of him in the Horsemen & giant headbutts.

Rest In.........i dunno.

My memories of Pegasus Kid/Wild Pegasus, is him winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in August 1990 and the first-ever Super J Cup in April 1994.
