Can Abyss's gimmick be "saved"?

As much as I enjoy hearing "American Made" on a weekly basis do you think there is a way to bring back the reclusive monster heel Abyss was? Can he become that kinda sick demented character again or should they just go out and find another "monster" (basically a younger guy between 6ft 4/ 6- 8 and is a solid 350 to 400lbs) to be properly built up to be another monster heel?

Sure he can. No one has faith in TNA's abilty to actually accomplish it though.

Hogan fucked Abyss up pretty good here.

on a side note i want to see what hapens the girl they put him with, does she go nuts like daffney did. a month with the monster that may make a good story.

I agree with this. Having her end up as Abyss' valet, but with a lost/psychopath demeanor would be quite entertaining. Sadly that would only work if Abyss breaks free from Hogan's grasp and goes back to being the monster he originally was. Honestly, my favorites moment of Abyss was when he was with Mitchell, he just seemed unstoppable back then. This 'Monster of the ring' gimmick is good, but his personality and appearance does not sync up with "American Man". He would either have to lose the mask, or (since this is the H/B regime) end up wearing a mask similar to the one Hogan wore when he Mr. America in WWE.

Easy. Have him go on a losing streak where he is frustrated,humiliated, and gets more pissed off every week. After every loss have Hogan in the back with him or in his office telling Abyss it's okay and he'll get better with time.

Then after Abyss loses another match (maybe against someone lovable like Lethal) have him go ape shit on Lethal, the ref, security, maybe even plant someone in the stands who Abyss pulls into the ring to fuck up... right after that have Hogan's music hit and Hulk come down to talk him out of killing the fan.

Have it seem as if Abyss is remorseful and going to leave with Hogan then have him flip his shit on Hogan. Pull out all the stops with chair shots, blood, tacks and boom he's back to legit.

Since dude seems to be a rip of Kane and Mankind anyways you could even have him "terrorize" TNA by interrupting matches and beating people up the way Kane did when he first debuted.

Abyss has always been pretty incompetent. He no-sells chairs and tables then turns around and sells weak-ass blows from cruiserweights. Also, his Barbwire Massacre match with Sabu sucked balls.

They should just Hassan his ass.

i wish they could bring back james mitchell back, to think abyss used to be a booker for tna.
