Michael Cole gets head kicked in part 2

This was good once again. Notice when Bryan says that Miz is the worst Pro ever, William Rega agrees with him....

BobBitchen 05-25-2010 11:47 PM

I think that was a good punch to Miz'es chin.

Kane Knight 05-25-2010 11:47 PM

TURN HIM HEEL

Supreme Olajuwon 05-26-2010 12:14 AM

I was pleasantly surprised by Cole's presence during that segment. So much of his announcing shtick is so forced and unnatural, but tonight he came across very real.

Also loved the kick his head in chants.

KIRA 05-26-2010 12:22 AM

Im surprised the chant was "Kick his head in" and not "kick his fucking head in" just because the WWE is PG doesn't mean the crowd has to be
but I guess PG is catching not complaining its just an observation

Skippord 05-26-2010 12:52 AM

is it possible Cole is just a huge cock in real life?

BollywoodSingh 05-26-2010 12:59 AM

Awesome segment. This thing has potential to be great and it looks like Daniel Bryan will get really over from this hopefully.

Great promo from Michael Cole. I never knew he had it in him.

glanville6 05-26-2010 01:23 AM

I must also say I was impressed with Cole's mic work tonight.

I'm not a huge Cole fan, nor am I a huge detractor of Cole. He's not the best announcer, but he's ok. My favorite team was King, Coach, and Joey Styles.

I liked Coach as Mr. McMahon's lackey, but Cole could do well at something similar too. I've enjoyed their program so far. Actually, if Styles or someone came to replace Cole as an announcer, he'd have possibly made a good heel GM... he's got to be turning heel, hating Daniel Bryan and Bret Hart.

muffalufagus 05-26-2010 02:03 AM

I really think that this is the best thing that the WWE has going right now. At least it's the most entertaining thing that I've been watching.

4 knuckles up 05-26-2010 02:07 AM

Cole was fantastic, in all fairness, he really played his part well.

Fuck yeah... THAT was really well played on both parts... And damn did Miz sell that punch to the face...

Mr. Nerfect 05-26-2010 03:22 AM

I can't wait to see this segment. Heel Cole is also tremendously interesting for some reason.

MoFo 05-26-2010 05:02 AM

Cole is a fucking awesome heel. Should of been GM

Back the fuck off with the bandwagon jumping.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-26-2010 07:17 AM

I don't even know if it's because Cole was a heel. I think it was because he seemed genuine. Back in the day he wasn't that bad on Smackdown because he actually showed some personality. He'd get mad when the heels cheated. He'd get excited when the underdog was winning. But he also had someone to play off of. He'd be the counterpoint for heel King, Heyman, JBL, and Tazz to an extent before he kinded blanded himself. Now he's got someone to play off of again and it's working for him.

Rammsteinmad 05-26-2010 09:38 AM

Wow. Michael Cole is suddenly awesome in my eyes. For this angle and that video above lol.

But seriously, Daniel Bryan must have been gutted when he came up to WWE and was told he'd be in a fued with Michael Cole, but this is getting really good and interesting.

Just one question though, it is all a work right? I mean worked shoot etc whatever. Coz a lot of this is coming across as very real, which makes it all the more interesting.

Innovator 05-26-2010 09:44 AM

Regal just sitting there smirking and agreeing with Dragon

Poit 05-26-2010 10:08 AM

 @ Miz

"You're future endeavored!"

BigCrippyZ 05-26-2010 11:38 AM

I've gotta admit this is pretty fucking awesome. I love the "realism" behind it all which is what is missing from the rest of the shows. This is honestly my favorite thing going on right now. I'd really love to see an Orton/Cole feud, that would be sweet too.

Who would have thought that heel Cole would be this incredible. Although I've hated Cole the last several years, I will admit that when he has someone to feed off of and run against, like he did heel Lawler originally on Smackdown, he comes across as a lot better and more believable.

Yeah I think it's just basically their way of addressing and downplaying Bryan's size and making him look like a real threat to the audience even though he's not 6'6 270. Like it's saying the reason small guys haven't been huge successes in WWE isn't because bigger guys are better, it's because the evil WWE machine has held guys like Bryan back. And since that's actually true it comes off as a shoot.

So this way the audience can accept a small guy beating up big guys.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-26-2010 02:46 PM

The timing of him decking the Miz was a thing of beauty. Miz is fucking incredible. Like the fact that I'm a "smark" or whatever, and when Miz was chirping the shit out of him I was thinking "fucking deck him Danielson" and he did and I marked THE fuck out.

The Pope 05-26-2010 02:50 PM

Whoa!! one of Michael Cole's security is Johnny Gargano!

Lock Jaw 05-26-2010 02:57 PM

This solidifies it.

Michael Cole is The Next Big Thing.

Lock Jaw 05-26-2010 02:59 PM

Oh, I guess Daniel Bryan was fine as well.

The Pope 05-26-2010 03:00 PM

Do any of you know Johnny Gargano?

Schlomey 05-26-2010 03:49 PM

That punch Miz took looked totally real.

Cole was absolutely fabulous.

Great 5 minutes of TV

lol, Me, too.

Schlomey 05-26-2010 03:57 PM

is nxt real? Like non-scripted? a real competition?

I know the matches are obviously planned out but the eliminations & the pros choices.....is this a real thing or is it just time waster to get a new guy on the roster?

Damian Rey 05-26-2010 04:20 PM

Very well done. They did a great job elevating the tension from last weeks segment to this weeks.

Cole was at his finest in his promo. I've never seen him so real. It's like he was dropping the announcer schtick and went with his actual personality.

Danielson was awesome as well, and while feuding with an announcer has never gone all that well, this is the prime exception to the rule. Danielson's promo was very real, and his punch to the Miz and the aftermath was amazing.

NXT and its booking thus far has got to be the best creative idea Vince and co. have come up with in years.

And lmao at Regal laughing directly at the Miz when he was claimed to be the worst pro.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-26-2010 04:44 PM

I don't know about NXT being well booked, other than Danielson vs. Jericho and this feud with Cole, the booking has been questionable. Jobbing him left and right was pretty dumb, I don't care what all of you say, but it's hard for fans who dont really know a guy to get into him when even the shittiest guy on the show (Tarver) is beating him. However, he's talented enough to get through it, and the crowd still likes him, but I think they could have done things a lot better. Everyone keeps saying how good of a wrestler he is but he's only fluke pinned Santino Marella, how are the fans supposed to take him seriously? Isn't Michael Cole 100 per cent right in the kayfabe sense?

Nevertheless, this segment was gold, but is not the regular on NXT.

Swiss Ultimate 05-26-2010 05:01 PM

Now that was good tv.

Jordan 05-26-2010 05:15 PM

Yeah I tuned in just for that, and it was amazing. Cole first off, was awesome I realized he could be the next Vince McMahon in that segment, he is a fucking prick, and if they ever want to make him more than an announcer (a bad guy GM) it would work in a heartbeat.

We talked a few threads ago about how JR was aided by guys like Kane and Mic Foley to help get him over by working in angles with wrestlers. Obviously that was part of his success at one time, and I think this is going to work for Cole beyond words.

Ever since Cole worked with Tazz and JBL he improved a ton, in the last two or so years he has grown immensely. I know people still hate on him, but thats fine by me, I think he is a great announcer and I enjoy his voice, it's part of WWE now, just as JR was once upon a time.

I'm sure a day will come when Vince is too old and has strained his voice to where he is no longer useful, and Micheal Cole could take a bump up to GM and play the evil boss. I hope it happens after watching this video, someday.

Bryan was great in the segment, he has been great in all of the segment since leaving NXT's competition. I think he has a tinge of the old Stone Cole/Brian Pillman energy for segments like this. He is a shooter through and through both on the mic and in the ring.

I think it's very cool WWE is allowing him to ride this wave instead of blocking up his creativity with some B/S gimmick that nobody wants to care about.

Wade Barret for NXT Winner btw

Hanso Amore 05-26-2010 05:17 PM

I hope this works into so kind of "Huge Chip on My shoulder loose cannon" character for Bryans WWE run.

Hanso Amore 05-26-2010 05:19 PM

PS

THis is the type of character / booking that will get and keep someone over, not winning a competition.

Swiss Ultimate 05-26-2010 05:21 PM

He came off like a heel with the "I'm a better wrestler than anyone in the lockerroom" routine but, the crowd loved him for it.

And Michael Cole's stock just went way up. He went from annoying and boring to me to someone real and passionate.

Joesgonnakillyou 05-26-2010 06:37 PM

Like everyone else I really enjoyed it, Cole and Bryan and The Miz have all been great and it's definately the most exciting angle going on in the WWE at the moment. I just have reservations. What's going to be the pay off? WWE have a habit of fucking up things I enjoy

Joesgonnakillyou 05-26-2010 06:40 PM

Plus: watching it again. I'm surprised how bad ass Daniel Bryan looks coming down to the ring with that fucking shit nxt theme. Star Power

DLVH84 05-26-2010 07:44 PM

I hope American Dragon backdrops Cole to his death, like Akitoshi Saito backdropped Mitsuharu Misawa!!!!
