Does anyone Hate the 619 as much as I do?
 

For my 619th post I decided to trash his lamest move... For a guy who, over the years has done some amazing things in the ring... This lame ass move called the 619 has to go...

That being said... Post yer favorite and/or not so favorite Rey moment before he got older, slower and started injuring everyone...

My favorite was his Halloween havoc match with Guerrero in 98'. He did some moves that he said he would never be able to repeat...

In actuality, it was Tiger Mask's move before Mysterio. When I mean Tiger Mask, I mean the original, Satoru Sayama.

Did Tiger Mask use the fake or did he actually use the attack?

The video in the first post is a prime example of why WCW was known for cruiserweight wrestling.

Also: Fuck the 619.

Yeah, I hate the 619. Always prefer to see how it's reversed if anything. When Jericho grabbed his mask in a match last year was particularly good.

He used the attack, it was originally called the tiger feint kick.

I just watched that Halloween Havoc match again last week on WWE Classics. Soooo good.

The 619 is fine. It's a pop move, and it does well as such. Compared to things like the previously mentioned Five Knuckle Shuffle or MVP's Ballin' Elbow Drop, it's completely tolerable.

I will admit that the way it's usually set up is usually awful, but whatever. It's still impressive. I really don't get all of this seemingly recent hatred some people here have for Rey Mysterio. Was I just missing it before?

Oh, and for the record, the weakest looking finisher in the WWE is The Lie Detector.

Lots of moves are glorified body slams.

I think the way the lie detector looks is fine for a set up to a finisher... saw at least three sots last night in the fatal four way that looked soooooo much better for him to finish with...

Yeah, that's what kills me. He has plenty of other moves at his disposal that would make fine finishers.

But the WWE likes to see R Truth kooning as much as possible!

It only really got cheesy after they scrapped the West Coast Pop, the leg drop/senton/whatever he follows up with now doesn't really do it for me.

I'll agree with ya on that. But I think in fairness to Cena, we should also mention that the same could be said of Brock's F-5.

The only beef I really have with the 619 is the setup. They've run out of creative ways to make guys fall on the middle rope. But a lot of it is the guy taking it. And I guess it's a very awkward move to sell since you're leaning on the middle rope and that makes it hard to fall backward and make it look natural.

I think they should have people land in that position in other matches so that when it happens in Mysterio matches it doesn't look so weird. Other than that, I like the 619, it's dynamic and as someone said it's a lot better than all the other pop moves.

Rey Mysterio is one of the best guys in ring in the WWE at the moment. He rarely has a bad match and managed to have several good ones with Batista (BATISTA!). The match at extreme rules with Punk is my favourite WWE match of the year so far and the feud with Punk is definately one of the best.

I had to check it out on youtube and it indeed is horrible. It makes Hogan's Leg Drop look like a gunshot.

619 equals overrated. he needs a better move me thinks.

Brock's F-5 was a little different and impressive as he had to spin each opponent around... Well that sounded weak, but it always looked badass to me... And in a little fairness to Cena... When he picked up Big Show and when he would pick up 2 guys and do the FU, that was some impressive strength... But I still hate his finishers...
