Rate the Movie #2: Ferris Buellers Day Off
On my phone at work, will post pic and info later. Also going to do one every two days I think.
I liked the movie, it was rather funny. Poll to come. |
10 is great, right?
My favorite of the John Hughes movies. Most people tend to say Breakfast Club, which is great, but none of them can compare to this, in my mind.
My friends got me to watch it when I had no idea where "BUELLLLLLLLER!!!!" came from.

It is a film I really want to see but have yet to do so. Actually, it was on tv a few days back but I forgot about it until the thing had finished.
I boggles my mind when people my age say they haven't seen this movie. Then again I just saw the Die Hards for the first time in the past year.
I gave this movie a 10 and Jaws an 8. I realize that Jaws is technically the better movie and was groundbreaking for its time. But for me Ferris is one of the few films that I can watch just about any time.
Also thinking about lumping movies and their sequels together. Just so it doesn't get all fucked up. Likely give a 2-4 day time frame and only do it so often.
Don't do that. Batman is a completely different rating experience than Batman and Robin and The Dark Knight.
Agreed with theddy.
I mean I would have seperate threads for each and post them all at once. Like three threads for the LOTR movies then a few days longer before I make another thread.
It would be better to do it all in one thread and just not use the poll than create multiple threads for every sequel. That way people can keep their discussion of why they prefer which movie in one place and there aren't lots of threads in the forum.
My Batman issue is kind of a separate thing though. You could lump them together, but it would make more sense just to pick one film and rate that because that seems to be the intent of these threads. I'm sure you could put a side question of "What do you think of the franchise overall?" or something like that in the opening post as a topic for further discussion. |
so how long until they make a remake of it?
Sounds good and remake starts filming next week in 3D
9 love that movie and watched it every day for like 2 months when I was a kid
I cannot give this movie any other rating then 10/10. It's perfect.
One of my favorite comedies ever 9/10 nothing these days comes close to it.
Rating LOTR, or something like Kill Bill as a saga is completely different than rating a movie and it's sequels.
That's because they made at the same time and split up later, so you can view it as one production if you choose to. There aren't many series where that's the case, so you should really have movies and their sequels rated seperately. You can make an exception for LOTR and other similar examples if you see fit, but it's not going to come up often. |
Even still you should have the LOTR movies split up, I think. People have opinions on which one is the best or worst
Yeah, but splitting up a series of movies, such as the LOTR series over 6 days would possibly make people not be interested in voting. I would like to also have a chat all at once about the saga.
Perhaps post all three movies in one thread with a multiple choice poll? And the alternate is splitting the saga over time, which also seems like it wont work. |
Work out the kinks and get back to me
I think I will post series on successive days.
Come on people, vote if you havent already.
Life moves pretty fast... if you don't stop to look around once and a while you could miss it.
