What if: Shane McMahon opened up a new professional wrestling company, and Bryan Danielson was his top star?
Would you mark?
I'd mark and I'd probably jizz
I want you to book the first night, Noid. I will make my decision then... but I'll prolly mark out anyways. Who else is in this "new promotion"?
No, actually. If that promotion didn't begin with someone already established or atleast far younger then I wouldn't invest any money in it.
Franchise player maybe but I dunno about being the face of the company.
It wouldn't make it mainstream, and I couldn't see Shane doing anything but mainstream.
I can't see Shane doing ANYTHING, honestly, but if he did it'd be mainstream. |
As much as I like Shane and have learned to like Danielson, I still wouldn't watch it weekly.
I would watch the first 2 or 3 episodes, but probably stop after that. However, it would make for a great story line moving forward. |
lol
No offense, but, absolutely not.
I'd wake up from the dream, because there is absolutely no way that would happen....
No.
Who is his top star? Never heard of him. He would probably open with a top star that we have heard of, not random indy wrestler # 56.
If he opened one with Rock, Goldberg and HBK I would wank, but Danielson isnt a big enough star

I'm not even talking realistically. Everyone knows me enough by now. Perhaps even as an angle? I'm thinking about all this NXT/Nexus stuff, and how it's caused such a stir. "Daniel Bryan" has become a hot topic like nothing you really see in this era. Would the WWE ever try a "spin-off" promotion that sort of had an indy feel to it? Even if it was glitzed up? Maybe a nice, polished set, but set in smaller venues like where RAW used to be taped? If they wanted to draw some sort of casual fan interest to it, they could perhaps work an angle where they leak reports Chris Jericho wants a reduced schedule to toggle his other projects (Downfall, Fozzy) and Vince won't budge -- so they come to terms with his release and Shane snaps him up. |
I don't care about Daniel Bryanson but if Shane started a legit wrestling company that doesn't really have any ties to WWE then I would be interested.

TNA? lol
Id give it a shot, and I think it would get better ratings then TNA. Funny how much Danielsons stock has gone up with his firing.
didn't you hear? That's what TNA's major announcement is! Shane is now co-owner of TNA!!
......... |
i'd give it a chance but I can't see him competing with his dad.
What if Daniel Bryans opened up a new professional wrestling company, and Shane McMahon was his top star?
WHAT THEN |
Shane would be a bigger draw than Danielson, that's for sure.
Very random post that Noid.
Christ. Nobody cares about vanilla midget indy wrestlers. If they did, ROH would be #1.
I'd feud him against various announcers for a year straight.
This is dumb. The more I come to the wrestling forum the more I feel like a loser.
Seriously, if shane was going to open up new company front by danielson, it would be a small indy company that most people wouldn't see. If Shane was going to open up a promotion with the intent on competing with WWE (which I think is what you are getting at) he would most likely get bigger named guys, but most of them are locked up with WWE and TNA right now.
But Danielson at this moment has no business being the top star of a company trying to compete with WWE. |
I doubt Noid was serious. However comma, how often do smarks give a shit about what would actually do well or appeal to people? If what smarks wanted was in line with anything popular, WWE would be booking bingo halls and struggling to meet capacity.
And Charlie Haas would be world champion.
Sean Morley would be in this.
And the Bashams
Who cares about Shane Mcmahon?
"What If".....*sigh*

P.S. Sorry for beating TerranRich in that "loser leaves TPWW" match a while back. |

Yeah, he'll add thirty viewers or so.
If we're talking a new promotion, I think he'd add a few hundred to somewhere in the low thousands range.
Fond as I am of redefining things post hoc, he's unlikely to end up in a new promotion.
"Thousands" isn't really all that realistic. I suppose it's easy to inflate your expectations in what is effectively an echo chamber, though. |
But think of the workrate Kane! THINK OF THE WORKRATE!!!!!!!
