The Rock had it all, Mankind could take a chair shots. Truthfully, never enjoyed matches with Mankind in them unless it had someone else I rather enjoyed a lot. Something about him just made me want to throw up.

Foley Suffered More Than Rock Ever did for the business

That may be, although to be fair it's not about that in here. It's about who the better in-ring competitor was/is and The Rock wins hands down here, although I don't think I'll ever forget Foley being thrown off the Cell and having one of his teeth go flying out of his mouth up his nose. He came back from that and was still good to go for years. That's just flat out inhuman. He should never have been able to return from that in all likelihood, but just like Superman, he got back up and soldiered on, and that takes serious balls to do.

Actually, it's whatever criteria you want it to be.

The Rock.

Foley did have his moments of greatness that affected the Monday Night War especially with the This Is Your Life segment, the Hell in the Cell, and 1st title reign but The Rock's moments and importance outshines Foley's.

If The Rock was the "sidekick" to Stone Cold during the Attitude Era then its possible for Foley to be The Rock's "sidekick" since he contributed to The Rock more than a Triple H or HBK or anyone else initially.

I voted Foley because even thow Rocky was far more charismatic and all I just enjoyed Foley's work better where Foley almost allways entertained me The Rock was at times a hit and a miss atleast for me but this is just my opinion

as i said when i started this: this IS NOT about in ring ability unless that is what you choose to judge by. it is up to the voter to decide what makes someone a better wrestler and there is no wrong way to judge that.

for me as a wrestler i beleive that there is a lot more to being a wrestling than just between the bells... and being technically superior doesnt mean your a better wrestler NESSICARILY.

better wrestler for me is about every part of the job of wrestler. from image to promos to work rate to crowd control to legvity to impact and to every other part of this wrestling thing. better wrestler, for me, is who is better at their job not who is better in the ring, unless the other factors negate each other and it comes down to such. but its much much more than simply who knows the most holds, or who took the biggest heat in foleys case.

(just ftr: in ring does have a bigger weight in my voting than some other criteria but it isnt always the deciding factor.)

I'm a Rock fan, I'm a Foley mark. Don't get me wrong, I completely get the Rocky love, but the guy had everything pretty much handed to him in order to make him a star. Now of course Rock still had to work to make it happen, but I've just got a lot more admiration for a guy like Foley.

So really this doesn't even get into wrestling skills, but if it did I'd still take Foley.

I was never a fan of Foley as a wrestler.

He was a great entertainer. That is what got him over.

Well that's debatable. I think he got over by being mutalated.

I usually tend to vote on these things based on who I would rather have on my roster if I could only have one or the other. The Rock gets it here. Foley had balls, heart, etc., but almost every time I saw him, part of me felt extremely sorry for him. He almost made me feel like a sick person for being a fan of his 'best work'.

I will always be a Foley mark even though I've lost a lot of respect for him after his "retirement".

Let me pose this question and see what kind of reaction it gets: Do you think the fact that The Rock left the WWE and went to Hollywood diminish the contributions he made to the company? Do you guys think any less of him because he left? Personally, I don't, but I'm wondering if anyone here does.

Do I think any less of him for leaving - absolutely not. He made the same choice most of us would have. More money, less chance of injury, lighter work schedule - in fact could now afford to work as little or as much as he liked.

However, was I pissed when he couldn't be bothered to make any appearance or tape a piece for RAW's 15th - yes. He did make up for that though.

And who's to say that The Rock didn't leave right at the pinnacle of his career? Of course we can't answer that but so often wrestlers go on just that bit too long and their legacy and memory gets tarnished. There's no denying The Rock left on a high.

What was his last appearance inside a WWE ring? The Pie judging where Christy Hemme said that "her ass was hungry" and sat down on a pie?

I'd run from that Wrestlecrap as fast as I could, after cleaning the pie off her of course.

Mick Foley put a lot into the business, I don't care what Ric Flair says.

Mick Foley could make you care in a way The Rock couldn't. I love The Rock, he's the one that got me to start watching wrestling again in 1998, but Foley's promo's were more than catchphrases. they made you invest in whatever feud he was in.

Plus he could wrestle really well outside of a hardcore match. whatever people say

Fair enough Jgky, but the key difference is, as far as promo skills, obviously Rock was a cut above Foley. Not that Foley couldn't work his magic with the stick as well, it's just that whereas Foley often portrayed the "lovable loser" stereotype that more people could empathise with by association, Rock's promos were so skillful and unpredictable that it was easy for him to give the crowd plenty of laughs and great memories. I can't wait to see who Rock goes up against next.
