This is gonna be off the hizook, regardless of who wins. (LOL @ Carwin putting his shoes on for the staredown, to appear equal height) |
That was a nice prelim fight
ouch
Intead of Mitrione being Kimbos last fight they should have made it Seth.
I dont care who wins this fight.
Good fight from a couple of nobody's.
the first fight that is
The Aussie is building a name for himself. I don't want to attempt spelling his name
George definitely wasn't out.
Oh, my bad. They didn't stop the fight. Watching this with no audio here.
Ill pm you what i use.
Great counter punch by Bonnar.
Great round.
This has been a hell of a fight so far
Estatic that Bonnar got a convincing win over a great contender.
well now ive seen everything...
Lesnar wins via arm triangle??? After getting thrashed in the goddam first? I have seen everything. This was one of the best cards in recent history
Both men are still beasts.
Carwin can still take anybody out with his hands. It's very rare he'll face someone with the chin/strength of Brock to overcome his punches. Brock's superior stamina and wrestling were expected, and his submission was impressive. I don't see anybody surviving under Brock, once he gets a solid position. |
i think carwin could beat him. brock looked scared shitless in the first. carwin just needs to be a bit more tactical and work on his cardio, there's not a whole lot between them.
oh wait, i didn't read the "once he gets a solid position" bit. ignore what i just said, i agree completely.
Fucking amazing. I love Carwin and Lesnar both, but Brock is the real deal.
Brock and Dana were great in the post-fight press conference.
If you get chance, try to watch the full video, rather than the chopped-up version they'll probably post on UFC.com. |
So can we all safely say that Brock's chin has been tested?

man, right at the end of that gif, look how brocks muscles seize! He looks like an anaconda putting that final squeeze to break ribs, get that last bit of air out of it's dinner!
It was terrible techinque, Lesnar basically muscled the choke, which he probably wouldn't have been able to do if Carwin wasn't so winded.
What are you talking about? it go him the win.
Yea that was actually really good technique.... he did exactly what to do when a guy is pushing with his elbow against the choke by circling away from his body to shorten the angle of carwins elbow and sink the choke in.
Oh, my buddy who trains in BJJ said it looked like he just muscled the choke in.

I dont get why you are saying its a bad technique though. He took him to the ground which is not Carwins game then put his bicep right on his throat and circled to get the good angle to choke him.
I don't know that I would call the BJJ Brocks game either. I don't think either man are really accomplished in that area.
And the ground didn't look like it was Brock's game in the first round. It wasn't so much Carwins lack of BJJ skills, and Brocks BJJ skills, as it was a big strong guy on top of a tired guy. And all the credit in the world to Brock for surviving the first and getting through the barrage that was Carwins fists, I thought it was done by that point.
It was definetly a big win for him. I was misinformed by a BJJ who thinks Brock is a joke. |
I just watched the finish in a video that wasn't all pixelated, and it looked alot better than when I saw it last night. And apparenlty it's like impossible to just used strength as the angles have to be right. Or so I've just been told.

Well, at least the questions about Brock's chin have more or less been answered.
My point was that at the time, neither was there under the best of circumsatnces. Lesnars got rocked and dropped, and Carwin got taken down and was gassed. Carwin came into the fight expecting to be taken down at some point, unless he's crazy, or crazy confident.

It's not that I thought Brock was badly hurt, he just wasn't doing what they call in MMA "intelligently" defending himself at one point. And I think we have all seen fights stopped for less.
