I seem to remember from a random episode of Raw back in 98/99, during the heel J.R. stuff involving "Dr Death" Steve Williams, there was an incident where a guy dressed in orange and wearing a mask attacked someone (Dr Death?) at the top of the ramp.

That was the only appeaance of that guy, so who was he? What happened with the angle?

I think it was after a hardcore match between Bart Gunn and Al Snow or Hardcore Holly, and I think it was Dr. Death in the mask, but if this isn't what you're talking about then I have no idea.

How orange?

I remember that, It was Dr. Death in a japanese theater mask. They were going to add the whole thing with him being legendary in Japan to his WWF gimmick but I guess they dropped it after one appearance :-\

I'm guessing the attack on Gunn was payback for the Brawl For All knockout. Anyone know why they dropped this angle before it got legs?

yep, I remember now. I was confused cause you thought DR Death was attacked and I was trying to remember someone attackign him. yea, JR came out like a week or two later and heeled on Cole. He mentioned how "they" tried to put Steve in a mask. Don't know why it was dropped though
