Cigarettes and Alcohol
Wonderwall

El Capitano Gatisto 07-10-2010 10:10 AM

Oasis are great. Cigarettes and Alcohol, Champagne Supernova, Roll With It, Rock and Roll Star, Live Forever and Some Might Say are probably my favourite songs.

I'm pretty indifferent to Oasis generally. I enjoy their music but don't go out of my way to pursue any kind of fandom towards them.

I did however meet Noel Gallagher in a bar one time and he seemed pretty down to earth, his mouth definitely needed washing out with soap though.

I wasn't their biggest fan as I was growing up, but their greatest hits album is amazing. I didn't actively seek to listen to their tracks while growing up, but it feels like their greatest hits is the soundtrack to my life!

What's the story. Is my favourite album of all time, sound track of my school days. Seen them live loads of times. No matter what mood I'm in, I can find an Oasis track to sympathise with me.

They've never really done a bad album, just albums that don't stack up against thier own previous efforts (standing on the shoulder's of giants)

I'm sure they'll get back together one day, but if they never make another album, they finished on a real high.

I would strongly recomend that you get the Masterplan album, it's basically an album of B sides, but even that is better than alot of the stuff out at that time and even now. Amazing songs on that.

Can't put over how many memories I have that evolve around Oasis, probably my favourite band of all time, yes Liam is a cock, but the music really hit a tone with me when I first picked it up and has continued to do so to this day.

Just hoping for a GH/RB Oasis pack to come out, that would be super.

If I'm in a great mood I'll put this little number on:

Whenever I head "Lemon Tree" I'm about to puke.

Oasis is probably my favorite band of all-time. My favorites are Live Forever, Listen Up, Fade Away, Don't Look Back in Anger and Acquiesce.

cigarettes and alcohol is a top song to come on in a club when you're pissed :'(

erictheking 07-15-2010 01:47 PM

For you guys in the US=: masterplan is the best album - its their 'b' sides - search it out if you dont know itt (sorry if you do, that comment wasnt supposed to be patronising either)
If you like Oasis you have to check out the Stone Roses (basically the band who inspired Oasis) absolutely fantastic - Liam *wishes* he was their lead Ian Brown... check out their selfd-titled album you will not be disappointed

Oasis is great

Nark Order 07-18-2010 05:52 PM

Wonderwall is one of the prettiest songs ever, imo.

Still the only song I can play on the guitar, it's brilliance is it's simplicity

Most of my favorites have been mentioned already, but I thought I'd throw this in "the mix"

Too many to mention tbh. I am a huge fan of all their work, bar the Heathen Chemistry era. Still like it, but gah it was just off for me. I love SOTSOG though and Roll It Over just was amazingly non-Oasis when I first heard it, It was great to see how even though the band was breaking up around that time, they kept it together and produced SOTSOG. Well, pretty much fucking Noel did.

Loose Cannon 08-02-2010 05:10 PM

love them.

muffalufagus 08-05-2010 01:50 AM

Absolutely one of my favorite bands of all time. I just got a bunch of B-Sides that I've never heard before. Noel is brilliant.

Top 5 right now
Stay Young
Carry Us All
Solve My Mystery
Flashbax
Cloudburst

Confused 08-07-2010 06:57 PM

Loved Oasis up until the third album.

Was in Dublin last weekend though and some lad was playing a not bad version of Whatever.
