OK ESPN. I'm gunna have to ask you to curb your Strausberg enthusiasm
I'm watching Outside the Lines and i'm 100% sure Tim Kurjkin and Ken Rosenthal jacking off while looking into the camera and talking about this guy. Buster Olney starts seizing when he talks about him. Olney literally called him the best pitcher in baseball after his second game. I bet they have to hose these guys down after the interviews about Strasberg. It's getting to be too much. I feel like i'm watching SammyG and Juan talk about the Lakers.

Bring him to the American league where the real hitter are.
I would stop watching ESPN and go with MLB Network
I dont even think the MASN people are as nuts over him as ESPN is

Seriously, how disturbing obvious is it that Strasburg already has the 2010 NL ROTY wrapped up? Despite very strong rookie seasons from plenty of guys who debuted before Strasburg and will be playing after Strasburg gets shut down due to innings limits.
The writers make the vote, and the writers have permenently moistened Strasburg's balls. He may win unanimously. |
I think they may give it to Heyward
It's amazing Strausberg is getting as much praise as he is on ESPN. I love Strausberg as much as the next guy but I don't think he's gonna be as good as everyone on ESPN is saying he is
Can you imagine what it would be like if Stephen played on the Red Sox? Since ESPN seems to be Bias toward the Red Sox they'd probably be proclaiming him as the CY Young second coming, if they haven't all ready said that. |
You haven't seen this commercial?

Watch in a few years unfortunately he's gonna need to get TJS.
RP, I'm sure you acted the same way when ESPN was giving media fellatio to Mark Prior a few years ago.
Prior had hype, but they weren't counting down to his starts.
It was close enough.

Was that only a few years ago? It feels like longer. Mark Prior could have been all that but I think Dusty Baker was the reason he didn't succeed same with Maddux. They were both great but Dusty Baker sorta ruined them both. I can't blame Prior for that. This isn't like Chamberlain and he gets all this attention just to fuck it up himself. Prior and Maddux both had real promise before Tommy John Surgery. |
ESPN wasn't the same monster back then.
Still funny though that the commercial heralds Strausberg as a return of power pitching while Jimenez, Josh Johnson, Price, and Verlander are all popping the catcher's mitt at 99 during the All Star Game. |
Isn't it spelled Strasburg? Been bothering me all thread.
Strausberg is nothing but an ameriture
Also Prior's delivery ruined his career, not Dusty Baker.
I fucking hate this hype as well. ESPN is such horseshit. LeBron and Strasburg cocksucking all day long
STRASBURG SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Yeah Lakers fan can keep their ESPN complaints to themselves.

I think he meant Kerry Wood.

I honestly cannot even imagine what it would be like if Strasburg played for the Red Sox. I feel like they would launch a new channel for that.
He seems like a humble enough kid. Don't hate on him because he's over-exposed. It's not his fault people are building him up.

That's fine.

I kind of can do without Bob Costas. I do like Costas, but he does annoy me a little.
It mostly stems all way back to him calling NBA games for NBC when Marv Albert bit his girlfriend while wearing a dress. |

hearing someone talk about the Pirates is quite nice actually
Especially considering how with ESPN there seems to only be 6 teams in MLB, tops: The Yankees, The Red Sox, The Nationals (only when Strasberg is pitching), and whoever they are playing.)
Costas is irratating
I don't like hearing about Yanks and Sox either, but I still don't want to hear about The Pirates.
