The Big Bang Theory

People told me to watch this, but I don't know. I feel like those geeks are the less credible geeks. Am I right?

Some guy told me it is getting better during the season 2. Is he right?

I do not know. I am kind of turned of by this tv show.

RP 07-12-2010 09:08 AM

the one geek is banging the hot blonde on the show. It's total bullshit. It's kinda annoying.

RoXer 07-12-2010 09:11 AM

I like it

RoXer 07-12-2010 09:12 AM

Dude who plays Sheldon (the real nerdy one) should win the emmy

I agree with this. Jim Parsons is fucking brilliant.

The show is really good, but at times makes you feel slightly dumb for not understanding all the science talk. They're just playing way too hard of the "hot chicks dig nerds" stereotype though IMO. Other than that, I absolutely love this show. Rahj also makes the show great.

Jura 07-12-2010 10:02 AM

First time I saw it I thought it was stupid and ridiculous. Then later one day I watched an entire episode and I thought it was pretty funny and downloaded the entire 2 seasons. I watched those 2 seasons multiple times over and enjoyed them very much but I don't have the same feeling when I watch the 3rd season. I don't know why but maybe the novelty is wearing off for me.

Fignuts 07-12-2010 10:50 AM

Seems like a dime a dozen cheezy sitcom to me. Watch Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia instead.

VSG 07-12-2010 11:02 AM

I love it, and yes it is better with season 2.

CSL 07-12-2010 12:41 PM

I've seen them all so far, it's nothing ground-breaking but it's not awful.

VSG 07-12-2010 01:32 PM

Frankly I saw the originally planned pilot sometime in May and knowing they didn't follow that trend deserves some props.

Lock Jaw 07-12-2010 03:10 PM

It is probably the best "mindless studio-style sitcom" on TV now.

RoXer 07-12-2010 03:12 PM

Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory are the only good "true" sitcoms left. Everything else is shit.

It definetly is. Great show.

Requiem 07-12-2010 03:14 PM

Show is hilarious. Nerd humor from start to finish, and it is absolutely fantastic. Dunno how anyone could not like this show unless they have no ounce of nerd in them whatsoever.

Requiem 07-12-2010 03:16 PM

Also, not at all Fignuts. 'dime a dozen cheezy sitcom' my ass. Show is easily one of the best sitcoms in the past 5-10 years.

Bad Company 07-12-2010 03:18 PM

Show is garbage. Guys don't even come across as nerds. They just come across as homos. Terrible shit.

Requiem 07-12-2010 03:21 PM

What? I guess you must not 'get' a lot of the humor then, because it is quite nerdy and I have no problem admitting that I am quite nerdy enough to get a lot of it.

Did you watch half an episode before making that conclusion?

IC Champion 07-12-2010 03:21 PM

Fucking aussies and their drunkeness.

I'm not even nerdy, don't watch cartoons, or read comics, or watch Star Trek and I find this show hilarious.

Requiem 07-12-2010 03:26 PM

^Yeah. The show makes fun of itself quite frequently too, which is one reason I love it. Hell, even the 2 that come across as having gay tendencies (Rahj specifically), they purposely make fun of and point that fact out constantly in the show.

I hate Two and a Half Men, even though its by the same guy (I think).

I have seen about 4 episodes. But I'd rather watch Top Gear.

Also, 2 and a half men is brilliant.

IC Champion 07-12-2010 03:34 PM

2 and a half men sucks now.

Requiem 07-12-2010 05:08 PM

You know who watches 2 and a half men?

My grandmother. And other old people.

Requiem 07-12-2010 05:09 PM

Also, I suppose a lot of the humor in Big Bang Theory is a lot (not all) of American pop culture humor, regardless of how nerdy it is. So that could be why you don't enjoy it as much.

thedamndest 07-12-2010 05:10 PM

I don't know what the allure of Two and a Half Men is to old people but I also know several old people who say it is their favorite show.

Requiem 07-12-2010 05:14 PM

It is somewhat 'risque' humor without being vulgar. To old people at least. That is why my grandma likes it I am pretty sure.

thedamndest 07-12-2010 05:22 PM

I think there must be a lot of blow job jokes that fly under the old peoples' radar. Some of that slang they can't possibly know.

XL 07-12-2010 05:50 PM

Can't stand Two and a Half Men. My girlfriend likes it though.
I enjoy The Big Bang Theory but it wouldn't make my Top 10 shows (maybe even Top 20). And now my girlfriend has got into it so it's cool that we can watch it together.

Jeritron 07-12-2010 06:53 PM

My grandfather loves Two and a Half Men

VSG 07-12-2010 08:51 PM

Two and a half men has definitely run soft now, they need something to bring back the fire next season or else its done. The kid is not a half anymore anyway :-\

I don't know, it seems like they are trying too hard with the nerd humour.

BC is a fucking kiwi. Don't insult us Aussies like that. It's a great show.

Jura 07-13-2010 05:45 PM

I think CBS generally pulls in the most of the older demographic.

Buzzkill 07-15-2010 01:33 AM

Honestly cannot watch the standard 3-camera sitcom anymore.

Watch Modern Family or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

IC Champion 07-15-2010 01:34 AM

Its better than your average sitcom, I do hate multicamera comedies of today.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2010 01:57 AM

Saw a Bazinga shirt at Hot Topic yesterday.

CSL 12-24-2010 03:36 PM

I'd probably be lying if I said the main reason I watch isn't Kaley Cuoco.

I watched all episodes over a few days and I can say this is the main reason to watch.

I got a really weird Sam and Diane feeling watching Penny and Leonard too. A celebrity guest star coming and breaking them up (Christopher Lloyd -> Whil Wheaton.) Also the amount of times they seem to be going out and then not.
