10ish years too late? (spoiler?)

Yeah, this whole Kane as champion, sure, we all love him, and have wanted to see this for a while, but has too much water gone under the bridge for him to be a successful and credible world champion?

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2010 08:48 AM

Nah, I buy it. The guy has been doing better ring work than he's ever really done. He might not be reaching a peak quite as noticeable as The Undertaker, but generally Kane can work with the right guy really well these days. He might look out of shape and such, but he's got enough strength to still be a believable monster.

Plus, from a storyline perspective, this is the most pissed off Kane has been in a long time. If I were a mark, I'd be eating up Kane's World Heavyweight Title win right now.

DaVe 07-19-2010 08:48 AM

no way

Kane's character means, like Show, he can do whatever he wants and still look like a legit threat. Not to mention he's been the number one guy/focus on Smackdown the past month or so...

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2010 08:50 AM

If the WWE were Dragon Ball Z, Kane would have just worked out how to ascend to the new level of Super Saiyan.

O-kay then!

BizarroKing 07-19-2010 09:16 AM

I think he can pull it off. The question is, will Taker be back for summerslam?

Kane Knight 07-19-2010 09:22 AM

He's a hoss. He's not going to lose momentum. The larger you are, the more you can be beaten down and turn it around in WWE pro wrestling.

Hell, Kane gets some pretty good pops on a losing streak. Give him a few wins and the freak show fans will be eating out of his palm.

Yeah he's in that circle in WWE where you get job out for a month, then win two matches then the title and be completely credible.

I see this as a lifetime achievement/gold watch for Kane. One last run on top.

Yeah, which is why I thought him winning MITB was kind of silly, seeing as how they could just give him a shot and people would buy it.

Innovator 07-19-2010 10:30 AM

Maybe just to swerve everyone who thought Drew McIntyre would win? I dunno, guessing what WWE Creative is trying to do hurts my brain.

The Pope 07-19-2010 10:35 AM

No, He is still a very good river and should have no trouble bringing fisherman in.

Xero 07-19-2010 10:40 AM

It gets the title back onto Taker eventually. That's all I can see this run good for.

I'd prefer him to get a proper, or at least token good run, but I don't see it happening.

The Pope 07-19-2010 10:41 AM

I want to see him have the title for a whole year.

Brigstocke 07-19-2010 10:48 AM

I'm just glad they didn't leave it on that little pipsqueak with the mask.

Xero 07-19-2010 10:49 AM

The midget with bad knees.

BigDaddyCool 07-19-2010 10:49 AM

Hmmm, wish I went to that now.

Brigstocke 07-19-2010 10:50 AM

However, if the WWE had planned for this, would it have not looked better to have Kane beat Swagger to win the title? As Reys stupid run now seems just that, stupid.

The title has lost two points in my eyes.

Agreed. I see Kane being the one responsible for Taker's attack and it's going to lead to another Brother vs Brother but this time for the WHC.

I don't want to see this again.

Kane vs Taker for the WHC in an Inferno Casket HIAC match. :nono:

That's a pretty contradictory gimmick match-up.

Xero 07-19-2010 11:36 AM

Not really. You have to light the casket on fire from torches on the side of the Cell.

Nah. It makes perfect sense. You see, you're trapped in a flaming cell with a casket, which you have to put your opponent in and light on fire by piledriving it through the flaming cell.

While the souls of all the people Taker has claimed in HIAC and Casket matches are in jars hanging from the top of the HIAC.

along with the corpse of Big Boss Man

VSG 07-19-2010 11:49 AM

Then I demand Paul Bearer is the special guest referee for that match! He can go "Light him on fire, Kane, unleash hell upon your dead brother" or "Oooh Yeaah, Undertaker, that hits the spot. Now just go harder and faster."

XCaliber 07-19-2010 12:26 PM

If Taker can be a credible champion at his age there's no reason Kane can't be despite not being in the best of shape he is still a very agile hoss.

Yup... That would be a nice Re-Hash...

Nicky Fives 07-19-2010 12:51 PM

I think he'll be fine..... at this point in his career, I feel as though he can't really have good matches with people close to his size (Show & Swagger come to mind), but I'm sure that smaller guys like Mysterio, Punk, Christian & Hardy can help him appear as a legit threat......

Attitude99 07-19-2010 01:03 PM

Finally I've waited so long for Kane become A World CHampion, I Hope They Don't screw him again

Except Undertaker is Undertaker. Kane's not on the same tier, though he's enough of a fan favourite he should still be able to pull it off.

If this is the case then okay. If not then I'm not a fan at all. Kane is about 6 years past being a credible potential champion.

Savio 07-19-2010 01:47 PM

Rey dropped the title both times to people I think really deserved it.

Kane even before he won, was the big man on campus.

Jeritron 07-19-2010 01:48 PM

I'm not one to get hung up over these things, but they might be able to use this oppurtunity to retool and "freshen up" his look.
Kane had always gone through changes like that, but he hasn't seen one in 6 years.

Team Sheep 07-19-2010 01:49 PM

I don't think his reign will be too long. It will work because Kane can just be slotted into the main event whenever and be credible. It's always been this way with him. And tbh with Swagger and Mysterio being the last 2 champs, he'll have no problems.

Jeritron 07-19-2010 01:54 PM

That doesn't mean it's another "bring the mask back" suggestion
