What's your favorite,or IYO the best wrestling montage ever put together?From ppv montages to show openers which one do you think is number one?My personal favorite is the "Aint no grave" one from WM last year for Shawn and taker.

#1 for me would the WWF Desire History video. That might just be the best video package I've seen from anything, not just wrestling. In fact, I think WWE has the best video packages anywhere, certainly better than other sports.
Other ones I'd put amongst the best I've seen are: -The Rock/Austin WM 19 buildup video with "My Way" by Limp Bizkit playing. -The HBK/Taker video played the night after the Elimination Chamber PPV in February of this year, set to "Running Up That Hill" by Placebo. -The Eddie Guerrero tribute that played on Raw after he died, set to "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. I think they only played this that night and switched the song to "Here Without You" by Three Doors Down because of the drug references in "Hurt" -I also liked the video they played that recapped the Survivor Series 1998 championship tournament, or at least it recapped The Rock's wins. The music was awesome. It's a WWE production theme called "Eggshells" I think. I can find the song on Youtube, but haven't been able to find that video. Anyone know where I can see it? |
Oh and also the Bret Hart-HBK buildup video to WrestleMania 12, the Cena-HBK buildup video to WrestleMania 23, and Bret Hart-Vince McMahon buildup video to this past WrestleMania.

The HBK/Undertaker montage promo they put together for WM last year was incredible. Probably my favorite of all time. The one with the Placebo song.

You know, I often think the best thing anyone ever said at the passing of a wrestler was JR. Simple, but it was something like "I hope I can be as good a man as he was, so I can see him again someday". Really heart touching and such a nice sentiment.

Loved the Desire of WWF/E video with Lonely Road of Faith.
The Eddie Video still gives me chills and tears as well as the Ric Flair Tribute for completely different reasons. I always like the montages they play for Tribute to Troops show as well. |

One i want to mention is the one they did for Jeff hardy with the song "rooftops".Very well made and got the crowd behind him even more.

The music at the end of that Fully Loaded one sounds very familiar. At first I thought it was the music behind the RTC sirens but now I'm not too sure.

The WWE has amazing support in this department. My favorite one in recent memory is Undertaker vs HBK from Wrestlemania 26 - Johnny Cash "Ain't No Grave"
The video and the song were a perfect fit for the mood. They played the shit out of it but it was superbly done. |

Another one that isn't as memorable for the right reason, but will always remember was the Blue Blazer montage from Over the Edge 99. Can't ever forget that one. Love the thread's title too. |

I know it was already mentioned, but this one's my all time favorite 'non tribute' promo...IMO far superior to the 'Aint no Grave' one they put together.

Placebo are fucking awesome. First 4 albums are quality, personally I prefer them in order they came out Placebo, WYIN, BMM, SWG... to hear them on WWE was fucking amazing, and jesus it did it justice.
I'm not one to say a song changed my life, or this and that, but that's to Placebo I met my first major girlfriend who I stayed with for 5 years. I learnt so much. So tbh, when Brian sings a song with emotion, it kinda makes me miss her and jerks ma strings so I'm susceptible to feel love for anything at that point in time. It's bad cos I forgot about Running Up That Hill and Taker - Shawn. So big rep to the post from Tb1. |
Fucking hell. Watched the promo again. It's ridiculously emotional and is giving me chills.
I think that's my favorite promo of all time. The editing, the music... Everything comes together perfectly. |
