It seems there might be some tension right now between WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and former WWE superstar Shawn Michaels. According to Dave Meltzer, McMahon recently made the call to have the announcers no longer mention Michaels on air and for there to be no footage of him shown on WWE television. Reports are circulating that the reasoning behind this was that Michaels was very unhappy about the Bryan Danielson situation. It's also believed that McMahon is upset that HBK decided to call time on his wrestling career, as McMahon felt there was still more years left in the tank. Michaels is said to be very distanced from having any involvement with wrestling at this point.

Wouldn't suprise me, as long as theyre flogging merchandise and putting $ in Vinces sky rocket he'd probably have people wrestle till they dropped.

I used to go there because I was able to get them on my mobile phone, but now that I can get tpww.net and pwinsider.com on my phone, I can stay away from that late news website.

Some of nodq.com is ok, it seems they have decent features...kind of like a TMZ thing with candid shots and old videos and stuff.

Vince desperately needs to get over the fact that Shawn made up his mind about retiring. Shawn gave 22 out of 26 years of his career for WWE, so I believe he deserved to retire, as he chooses.

I am with you on that one... If this turns out to be true, then VKM needs to turn that ego of his down even more than the size it is already...

If, and I stress if, this is true, it'll blow over. HBK is too big of a part of WWE history, and I'd bet money that he'll make his way back in a non-wrestling role at some point...which will make Vince money.

Plus, I see Brian Danielson getting rehired at some point, which should mend these supposedly broken fences.

I am sorry to read this but I am not surprised. I have been a wrestling fan since I was a child, and my biggest gripe about WWE is the way they treat the people who leave there. Vince will eventually cut his own throat if he continues to do this. Shawn deserves every accolade and every bit of respect/consideration that can possibly be afforded to him-he has more than earned it. I am thankful that at least Shawn was not humiliated before he left as so many have been, like Vickie G. or Mickie James to name but a few.

P.S. I am a new member here, this is my first post. It seems like a great site and I look forward to getting acquainted with everyone.

No, I remember, but maybe you will also remember that Vickie quit last year after Wrestlemania. Remember the mud wrestling, etc? It seemed quite humiliating to me, like Vince's parting shot at her. The same goes for the "Piggie James" storyline. It seems rare that anyone is ever allowed to leave that place with their dignity intact.

Well, I'm glad the situation isnt true anyways, even though with Vince's state of mind lately, its not that far out of the question. And the website did update with this:


The source of the original story was Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com and here is a direct quote he made in response to Scherer's report:

"Marketing people were given a directive last week regarding Shawn. There was some idea, not sure what, it had passed every stage, had been okayed at the top, was about to be worked on. Vince came back and nixed it, saying they are to do nothing involving Shawn. This was after okaying it."

Couldn't it be interpreted as Vince is respecting Shawns wishes to retire from wrestling and letting the legacy of Shawn Micahels be what it was and not a sham retirement like Ric Flair?

I don't know, that's what I sort of got from the whole story.
