Edge's Finishers
 

Does Edge still use the Edgecutioner? That was his finisher before the spear. Before about 2002 I'd say. I don't think he uses it anymore. I think it's a much better finisher than his spear.

Also, around 2002, he was also using a pretty cool submission move called the "Edgeucator". How come he stopped using that?

I liked his Downward Spiral.

He still uses the Edgecutioner and the Edgeomatic, but they never get called that anymore. I miss the Edgucator, but almost nobody has a submission finisher anymore, which is why I think they went away from it.

You mean the Edgeward Spiral.

The Downward Spiral was his first finishing move, I believe. Then he used the Edge-O-Matic (which got its name from the Gallagher sketch where he smashes things with a sledgehammer -- "Sledge-O-Matic"). When I started watching (late 2000-early 2001) he was using the Spear as the closest thing he still had to a finishing move. Then it was the Edgecution during his face push of 2002. He added the Edgecator some time after that. When he returned, it was Spear all the way.

I do miss his better finishing moves. He doesn't need to cut out the Spear or anything -- it's associated with him pretty well.

I hate spears on relatively small guys. Doesn't look too good.

That one spear Goldberg hit on Spike Dudley was the most convincing one I saw. This is a close second, and tell me that doesn't work for you:

I meant smaller guys doing it. The best sells absolutely come from the smaller guys.

I just can't buy someone who isn't bulky like Edge doing the spear. Goldberg and Rhino are very convincing because they have the size to back it up.

Agreed. WWE says Big Show's spear hurts less than Edge's anyway.

I think he improvised at the end. He was going to do the Oklahoma Slam at the end like he usually does. But it looks better like he did it there.
