New SSD Drive

So i got my hands on ma first SSD, and will be installing Win 7 Ultimate x64 on. My first dabble in Win 7 as MY OWN op system and not just pissing around with the ones at work / girlfriends.

So anyone here using SSD's? What do you think of them?

I will do a HD Tune test here if people are interested in that stuff. I will put them as a comparison to my 74GB 10,000RPM WD Raptor and the 1TB 7200.10rpm Samsung SpinPoint F1.

Still too expensive for me.

But I've been wanting to do an SSD boot drive for a while now.

I wish SSDs and memory would be much cheaper but I have a gaming rig in mind where I put all the game files on the SSD and the OS on a regular drive. I would put them all on the same drive or have two separate SSDs for each but of course the price is an obstacle.

Yeah, the small jump in speed compared to the price makes it totally not worth it right now.

This is the latest addition to my rig that I use for gaming, leisure, music and web creation and also for photochop.

I think memory is a decent price. I know it varies at duff times, but I wad after 4GB sticks to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB and I noticed how cheap you can pick some memory up.

It's a good job I waited on this SSD. I held fire on it and the day I went to buy it had gone down £11!

The fucking fan bay mod is and ass though. Terrible idea by me. 2.5" into a cradle to fit a 3.5" which in turn is in a cradle on the back of a 5.25" fan mod.

It's installing Win7 now. Going to bed then will check in the morning.

Just picked up a 600GB VelociRaptor for under £200. Will wait to post the HDTune comparison until I get this fitted.
