Rank The Actor #3 - Brendan Fraser

BRENDAN FRESAR

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

The Mummy series scores big numbers and the 4th installment is on the way.
Dramatic role in the smash hit Crash.
School Ties starring role where he started getting noticed for his acting.
His role in Gods & Monsters was a dramatic turning point.
Financial success with Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D

CAREER FLOPS:

Known as one of the least consistent leading men in Hollywood.
Movies like: MonkeyBone(which I liked), Looney Tunes, George of the Jungle, Furry Vengeance ect...all scored mild numbers and bad reviews.

He is a conundrum. One year he puts out a good performance in a Mummy film & Crash and the next we get Dudley Do Right & Furry Vengeance.

I agree with many stories that say he is the least consistent leading man in Hollywood. Is he seriously thinking he is making good films or is he only concerned with a payday? Who Knows? But after looking at many of his choices how could I think he does it out of love?

I give B. Fraser a 4...

Miotch 08-06-2010 08:28 PM

He's never turned in a truly compelling performance, and most of the time he's just god awful. I give him a 1.

In fact his BEST performance was probably one where he didn't even have a real speaking role in Encino Man.

Triple A 08-06-2010 10:53 PM

Are you seriously going to do one of these every day? By day 40, 80% of the threads on the first page will be this shit. Chill

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-07-2010 07:12 AM

They should of ended the Mummy series at the end of the second film. The third one was complete utter shite. For that reason, i give him a 4.

Schlomey 08-07-2010 01:42 PM

See I liked part 3. Wasn't expecting to but I did.

Also, sorry TripleA I'll give it a rest.

He's not a good actor by any means but manages to minimize his damage by taking Brenden Fraser-appropriate roles. Seems like he would be a pretty nice guy though. Solid 3.

I liked Bedazzled and Encino Man.

Schlomey 08-08-2010 01:08 AM

Bedazzled had an AMAZING premise but was dissapointed with the delivery somewhat. But yeah it wasn't one of his "bad" movies just could have been taken to higher levels.

Rammsteinmad 08-08-2010 09:31 AM

5.

He's been in some great films, and some awful ones.

Airheads is one of my fave movies, and his role in Scrubs (can't remember his name on it) was good.

YOUR Hero 08-08-2010 01:18 PM

It seems to me you're ranking him based on the movies he's in and not his actual presence.
