Face or Heel: Bryan Danielson / Daniel Bryan
 

Not even close. FACE AJ all the way. This time I thought it would be interesting to look at a guy whose run in the WWE was brief but highly memorable. Daniel Bryan / Bryan Danielson / The American Dragon or whatever you want to call him, left quite a mark on the WWE in his short time there. He was essentially THE FACE of NXT season one; the guy that the crowd quickly got behind whether it was mouthing off to Michael Cole, defying the Miz, or just being the icon of the IWC. His heel run in the WWE might be the breifest thing ever mentioned on record. In one night on RAW, along with the Nexus, he helped launched an assault on all things WWE, choked Justin Roberts with a tie, spat in Aquaman's face, and yelled "Your not better than me!" at the guy to boot. Pretty memorable heel moments for only one night in that role.

I'm torn personally. He's a guy I always rooted for on NXT, but damn if I didn't mark out seeing him beat the living hell out of Cena! Especially with the Nexus angle going on it seems more than likely that if and when he returns, it will be as a FACE. Not sure what would be best anymore.

So, how do you take your American Dragon?

From what I have seen of Daniel Bryan (basically sporadic NXT and his two RAW appearances), he was pretty bland as a face, then when he started to heel it up against Michael Cole he became interesting. Then when he kicked Cena in the head he became very interesting.

So yeah, heel.

I didn't vote, here's why; because he got fired.

The guy's still working, just not with the WWE.... for now.

Since there's no difference, really, I flipped a coin.

So essentially he's a backyard wrestler.

He looked cooler as a heel, maybe he should be a tweener when he returns.

Kinda ironic when you consider how he got fired....

Haven't seen him much as a heel but what little I saw I didn't care for all that much therefore I am going with face even though he may not be strong on the mic he can play the underdog card very well.

Surprisingly closer than either of the last polls.

It's a bit of a hard one. I personally like Bryan, so I want to cheer him. There's something very likeable about him, and with his size, he makes a sympathetic guy when playing the face role. That being said, I enjoyed his more heelish moments. Also, I like the idea of Bryan Danielson controlling the pace of a match, and really looking like a vicious sonofabitch. I think a big part of the reason he seems like such a face, is because he got so much respect on the independent scene, that people refused to really boo him, and matches have a more open construction there.

In the WWE, I think a heel Daniel Bryan would be very interesting to see.
